I have two pugs. My senior pug (12 years old) has a LOT of allergies or sensitivities to 14 different foods--like rice, fish (flesh only--oil OK), potatoes, sweet potatoes, spinach, rice, yeast, peanuts, cow's milk--the list goes on and on. He's on plain raw meat and portions of an egg white omelet with veggies he's not allergic to . Because he's not as active now, I have to look at the fat %age for every treat. This goat jerky is perfect for him, only 6% fat. He also loves it, so he's motivated to "behave" when I have it to give to him.I'm not sure, though, if Walk About Dog Treats still makes them, since they are no longer sold at my local dog supply retailer, & they cannot get them from their supplier. I tried to order this product twice and twice I received the Merino & Goat Jerky instead of plain Goat. Merino/Goat product contains brown rice syrup--and Gus cannot have it. I pleaded with Amazon to take down the current picture of the never-in-stock goat jerky and instead put up the Merino/Goat brand that they wrongly sent me twice. I see the wrong photo is still displayed, so I'd be careful ordering it. Very disappointed that Amazon keeps showing a product that will likely never be in stock again. 5 stars ONLY for the product, not for you-know-who.

My dog was recently diagnosed with IBD and food allergies and can no longer have the “normal” types of protein(chicken, beef etc) so finding treats that utilize novel proteins and have no other protein fillers(chicken meal is snuck into a lot of treats) has been challenging . Thank goodness for these alligator treats, my dog loves them! He was very picky before we had to completely change his diet so finding something he’s allowed to have and also likes has been tough but these definitely do the trick, very happy and will continue purchasing.

Well as with everything I guess, one dog loves them and one doesn't. The quality is great and I will definitely try other flavors in hopes of finding one that the other dog likes.

I started buying these goat treats for my very allergic Shiba Inu because the freeze-dried goat treats that I had on order through the Subscribe and Save program were no longer available. My dog didn't like these as much as the freeze-dried goat but it's not as if he can be picky since goat is about the only protein to which he hasn't reacted. I also put this on Subscribe and Save but just opened the package that arrived last month and the strips look like they are covered in mold! So I am throwing out the bag and cancelling my subscription. Just very disappointed as the expiration date on this bag was 2019 so it's not as if I got an old bag - I think this batch was not dried sufficiently but bagged anyway and the excess moisture led to mold on the jerky. I suggest you open the bag and check contents to make sure they are OK - if I had done that when I received this bag, I would have contacted Amazon and gotten a refund and then cancelled my subscription!

These dog treats are great!!! All of my dogs love these treats, I'm actually giving them to my friends who have dogs for Christmas this year. Judging from the dogs reaction (and my cats opinion too bc I share the dogs treats with them and these are safe to do that with), these treats are more exciting than anything else. Bc of that they are also a great distraction. I gave them to my dog as a distraction for his injections after he had surgery and it worked great. I also have a very picky little old chihuahua who sometimes won't even eat the food I cook for him but if I break these into tiny pieces for him he always eats these. I like that they are healthy and simple, and fine for his food allergies.

My dog has food allergies and this is the best high-value treat for him! I have a monthly subscription.

I Am training my service dog and I have been looking for a high value treat to use for trading and this is by far the best treat I have ever purchased.shes sensitive to chicken and it’s hard to find treats without chicken where I’m from. My dog goes crazy for these. They are very rich so I recommend only giving your dog one treat and breaking them into pieces. I gave my dog 4 in one day and she got sick cause they are pretty rich. Overall your dog will love them I can promise you that. And the best thing about them is that they go a long way! Worth it 10/10

Finally found a well made, safe jerky product for my picky and allergy prone greyhounds~! Alligator and Quail are their favorites. I love that this company offers the novel proteins as one of my guys can't have the typical jerky treats due to her allergies. And they are reasonably priced compared to many other jerky treats out there. Bonus, all my hounds love them!!
