JAMES BOND’S DB5: A WELCOME ADDITION TO THE BOND COLLECTION
This is a fantastic ‘coffee type’ book on the Aston Martin DB5 of 1964 Vintage made immortal by James Bond commencing with an entry on the association between the Bond franchise and Aston Martin followed by entries on the participation of the DB5 from the third Bond film ‘Goldfinger’ (1964) to the latest twenty fifth entry ‘No Time to Die’ (2021). All along, the book is intertwined in a wonderful set of photographs (many rare of the DB5), sketches and drawings of the gadgets fitted in to make it arguably the ‘most famous car of the world’. In addition the other Aston Martin models which appeared in the Bond films like the DBS (1969), DBS V8 (1987 & 2021), V12 Vanquish (2002), DBS V12 (2006 & 2008) and the DB10 (2015) are also featured. There is much more in the book than one can possibly describe of the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 and the others Martin(s) all ionic in their own right. This is a must to have book in your collection if you are a James Bond fan and / or an Aston Martin enthusiast.

Great pictures Poor research
Worth having just for some of the photos that haven’t been published before. The photo of Connery and Guy Hamilton at Stoke Park is worth having by itself.Given the resources available to the authors though,it’s a lazily written book leaving lots of detail out. Some cringeworthy comments showing zero knowledge of driving skills such as suggesting the driver of the DB5 performing the doughnuts in No Time To Die used the handbrake when of course the handbrake would play no part, just the throttle and steering. It could have been so much more.Maybe it was No Time To Research

Everything you need to know....
Only just received this book as I write this, but very pleased. Its a large coffee table book with a quality cover, and a must buy for anyone into Bond cars. It even covers the DBS from OHMSS, V8 Saloon, Vanquish, DBS V12 and DB10 from other Bond films. Each Bond film where the DB5 makes an appearance is covered. It's written as a production book, so plenty of behind the scenes detail, inc Ken Adam's original drawings for the effects car in Goldfinger/Thunderball. Also covered is the Goldfinger Continuation car, of which Aston made 28. Minor gripes....there are lots of pics from No Time To Die, but none that lift the lid on the details of the stunt DB5's, other than showing their carbon fibre body shell...no interior shots, and none of the BMW engine. Also not covered is the DBS and Valhalla from NTTD, though the Valhalla only makes a quick appearance in the film. No great detail where this book does cover the other Astons, but it's nice that the authors made it an almost complete Aston in Bond rundown, and after all, it is a DB5 book. 278 pages, though page numbering stops just short of the end at 264 for some odd reason. It's not 304 pages as per the Amazon listing. Summary: Highly recommended!

Coffee table masterpiece
From the moment you get your hands on this giant 007 book you realise you made the right decision in buying it, its jam packed with insightful interviews and behind the scenes anecdotes, and most importantly stunning photographs. My only gripe (and its a small one) I would of loved to see some of the old promos and advertising for aston martins tie ins with the Bond franchise, other than that Im going to constantly pick this up from my coffee and flick through the gorgeous photographs for years to come.
