Jason and the Argonauts (English Readers Level 2): 1

Bought it for my grandson, aged 6, to explain where his daddy's name came from. Had to help with tricky words. Good child's version of this legend.

My 4 and 6 yo girls love this.I was concerned about the whole “Medea chops her younger brother into pieces and throws him overboard” storyline but Usborne handles it well (they avoid it all together!)The pictures are beautiful!

I teach English to children and over the last 6 months I have ordered around 50 books. This book is by far and away the best of all of them. The illustrations have been done with great flair, originality and they feel very contemporary. The writing flows well without any use of obscure words and tells the story in a clear and compelling way. I only wish there were more books edited with this kind of visual and verbal passion. A huge thank you to the creators.
