Just days after winning the Tour of Flanders, Peter Van Petegem took a high-speed, exciting three-up sprint finish to win the "Hell of the North." Van Petegem was so far back during the first two hours that he missed the big pile-up near Troisvilles. Pounding down the tree-lined avenues toward the velodome, it was a three-way race between Van Petegem, Vjatcheslav Ekimov and Dario Pieri. Ekimov tried his best, with a plunge off the boards, but as soon as he made his move, Van Petegem accelerated while Pieri, unable to get on his wheel, cracked. Peter the Great raced across the finish line for his second victory within a week! Approximately 180 minutes. Narrated by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen.
