The Organic Farmer's Business Handbook & Business Advice for Organic Farmers with Richard Wiswall (Book & DVD Bundle)

When I found this book on Amazon, I was looking at reviews for Curtis Stones book on spin farming after having watched a LOT of his videos on YouTube. After reading the reviews on Wiswals book, i decided to buy both. Because Wisswal goes more into the financial aspect of life other then just immediate profits, I decided to get his first, since we are just getting ground broke to do a spin farm for market garden, I wanted to have as much info as possible to make the best choices I can. Wisswalls book is a different more traditional type of farming with tractors, implements I won't be using. The info on the financial aspect, the examples of his book keeping on profitablity of different crops makes that aspect of how to, makes this so easy if you don't have the slightest idea of what to do, your in good shape,if you just keep track of what you spend and put into either a spread sheet or even a written format. He makes it that simple. I don't have a working CD/DVD on my laptop at present, so I can't review them, but the CD and DVD were included as promised. Definitely well worth the money spent!

The subject is a farm of many acres but my objective is only couple acres of organically managed production for personal use. Regardless, I want to be as efficient as possible in production, and in the limited amount of paperwork that I’ll need to do. The paperwork discussions are detailed with examples that I can directly apply. The farming production is the most detailed that I’ve found, to me was the most interesting, and includes photographs of the implements required, what they’re called, how they operate – all with an emphasis on how they contribute to efficient production. I’m ordering Richard’s other book “Farms with a Future...” now hoping for more discussions on production.

If you are just getting started. It definitely takes you step by step. I really liked the DVD too! It is nice clips from talks Richard has given. It was like paying to sit at a conference or lecture only it was "free". It's a great companion for the book. I am happy that I purchased them both together.

Excellent book explaining nuts and bolts of organic farming as a profitable business. Author clarifies how profitability can be achieved and how he personally organized himself to do so, what procedures, equipment he uses and his approach to various problems and tasks.
