I was upset when first ordering this item in order to give the company a second shot because the first one of there products was a dud right off the bat and they did nothing to help fix it so I ordered this one because I get it there are duds and sometimes some issues with customer support so when I first got this item it was broken due to the plastic cracking and falling apart ... super glue fixed that so no biggie. Now upon recieveing the item other than the previous statement the item looked great felt a little cheap but I've made some adjustments to the structure , now the display was cheap and plain I wished I had waited to get the newer version but I was eager to give them a second shot, the display has no detail other than what power supply is active and a non percentage basic battery display, which I should say they updated in the newer model, the battery life is amazing and charging speed both over solar and wall are quite fast, the DC barrel plug is not regulated which limits what I can use in it , also fixed in the new model, and my only other issue is that you are un able to use dc pass through while charging from any source. So in conclusion I'm very happy with this device and company the second time around and will be purchasing the update version of this model

I bought this 500W "Solar Generator" -- along with the Rockpals RP082 100W Foldable Solar Panels -- just a couple of weeks ago. I am a costume designer and tailor and I plan on having a booth next year at the Southern California Renaissance Faire selling my wares, and need independent power in my kiosk. Plus, living in a fire-prone area, we often get power outages and I wanted a quiet form of electrical power back up, so as to not annoy the neighbors with my gas-powered generator. The unit was delivered very quickly, and I immediately plugged it into an AC outlet to top off the charge, which took several hours.The next day I plugged my high-end embroidery sewing machine in the battery pack and proceeded to work FIVE FULL DAYS sewing with the machine before the charge indicator reached the bottom bar and started blinking on the display.In the meantime the Solar Panels had also arrived, and, today, I unfolded the very well-designed array on a table outside in the yard, and plugged the red & black leads into the battery pack. Seven and a half hours of solid California sun later, the power pack was fully charged again! Of course I had to move the table a bit about every hour to make sure the panels faced the sun as it traveled across the sky, to get the maximum possible charge.I have yet to test charging USB devices (cellphone and tablets) directly with the solar panels, but that should happen soon.I am very happy with the design, efficiency and ease of use of this combo. It more than exceeds my expectations.Buying it here on Amazon allowed me to create a "bundle" with the upgraded Solar Panels, which was not an option readily available on the Rockpals website, and for a better price than with the regular panels!

This generator is powerfull and can handle lots with all of its power plug ins . Besides the usual Entertaintainment, communication devices, and small dc appliances, I use it as a back up power source for a a large propane fireplace heater. When power is out in winters (quite frequently} it can run the thermostat and fan for a little more than 24 hrs. This unit should have the ability to measure the % of wattage of what you are using but it doesn.t Master that and this unit is excellent. As is this unit still is very good product. I have two 60w Rockpal solar panels( newest ones} to run in parallel and charge in the sun.

It feels very solid because it's heavy (18#). The charger box gets so hot that I was concerned and contacted the seller.They said it was normal When I went to test it out nothing worked. I asked to return this and the seller sent me a prepaid label for ups... there were a few issues having it picked up but the seller really did all they could to help me. The higher stars are for the seller. I appreciate them. Now I need to find something that works. I read reviews on this product that were good. Maybe I just got a defective unit. That happens sometimes.

Was a little apprehensive about buying something without knowing 100 percent that it would be capable of doing the job. Only had this Rockpal 500 watt solar generator for two days. Charged it up from the wall AC outlet out of the box and took about 3 hours. I also bought the Rockpal Solar Panel 100watt for later use while Camping. My husband needed something that would last 3 to 5 days on a camping trip to power his CPAP while sleeping. He doesn't use the humidifier heater in his CPAP but I have no doubt this unit will handle it. After testing it at home with a full 8 hours sleep the Rockpal Solar Generator did not even drop 1 bar. Still showing 100 percent charged. Realisticly I know that is impossible but photo this morning I took shows otherwise. Probably used about 10 percent. This means he should be able to do the upcoming trips in our new camper without any issues. Great Product so far and I will update after a few months see if product stands the test of time!
