Good aroma and taste of the habanero but heat lovers will find it lacking
I had hoped to enjoy a hot sauce that is both hot and has the fragance and flavor of the habanero pepper. For me, this product satisfied half of my expectations. Melinda's XXXXtra Reserve Habanero does provide the nice aroma and flavor of the habanero but it's not hot enough for me. For heat I will go back to Da Bomb Ground Zero which does have the aroma of the habanero pepper just far less of it. I find one drop of Ground Zero will provide the same heat level as about 20 drops of XXXXtra Reserve. Furthermore the reason I got something like Ground Zero was to not drown my meal in a bath of hot sauce in order to give my food the kick I want. Tastewise, XXXXtra Reserve is alright as far as hot sauces go. But again when you start to add 20 drops like I will need to for the heat then the food takes on a more vinegary flavor. For those not looking for as much heat but enjoy the aroma and flavor of habanero, I think this sauce will satisfy them.

Painfully Delightfully Addictive
How many hot sauces are there out there? How many of them have you ever heard of? It's a dangerous decision, which one to buy. Chopula is mellow, Frank's is not. Gochujang should be limited to Korean dishes. You can have those "Death Wish" brands--being able to TASTE whatever it is you're putting the hot sauce on would seem to be a worthy attribute. There are fans (as in fanatics) for dozens (hundreds) of the brands. You can try them all; most won't kill you, just upset your, um, metabolism for a day or two. Melinda's XXXXtra is my settled choice for hamburgers and bland vegetables like cabbage or jicama or zucchini or well we'll see. It's all an adventure. You might want to start with a milder (comparatively speaking) Melinda's potion: "Original"; graduate to "Extra Hot"--avoid the "Garlic Habanero" at all digestive costs--move on to "XXXtra" (one fewer X); and if you're still there abide with the "XXXXtra".But that's just me. It's all good.

Doesn’t get much better than this.
This sauce used to be sold in my local Harris Teeter but since they stopped carrying it I’ve ordered it from Amazon. I’m a spicy food freak and this is by far the best hot sauce I’ve ever tasted. It has that fantastic habanero flavor profile: hot and just a bit sweet. In this sauce it isn’t blended with mango or any of the usual habanero pairings. Pure pepper flavor. The bits of carrot it contains give it a wonderfully chunky texture. The heat level doesn’t send me running for a glass of water—it’s just intense enough to push my boundaries without exceeding them. I try to keep one bottle in the fridge and two in the pantry, just in case! As long as this sauce is made I’ll be buying it.

This is the hot one.
Look for the Xs. My husband loves this-- the 4 x version. He was disappointed when I accidentally bought the " original" one. The text didn't clearly differentiate through description and I had forgotten the full name.Good to make a available to enhance prepared dishes. I wouldn't put it in while cooking for guests. It's likely to be unacceptable to some of them. Flavor is interesting-- more than something that just blows the top of your head off.

My everyday hot sauce.
I love this hot sauce. This is not the hottest sauce out there. Melinda's has a 1x, 2x , 3s, 4x so this is there hottest with the habenero pepper. But what I really like the flavor of this sauce. I does not overpower what you are eating, but enhances the flavor. I usually order this sauce 5-6 bottles at a time cause I will just have to re-order before the month is up. Two thumbs up.

You can never beat Melinda's!
Whomever is the creator of Melinda's various sauces is a genius. I've experienced many of them, and they have been unerringly delicious, a unique balance of flavor and heat. This particular one is no exception!

Ingredients listed in photo wrong!
I’m very disappointed in the product I received. Was looking for a hot sauce that was allowed on Whole30, checked the ingredients listed in one of the product’s picture and they all worked so I purchased. Received it today and there’s xantham gum listed as one of the ingredients on the actual bottle. Feels like a misrepresentation and I can’t even return it to get a different type since it says this product is ineligible. Very disappointed.

Gift for my husband
I gave my husband this bottle of hot sauce for Christmas. He absolutely loved it! He reserves it to put on "special" food items, like Chinese and Mexican. I will be buying this again once this bottle is gone, which won't be long.
