Open box a great deal.
Im upgrading my bench grinders with CBN wheels but I still need to work on steel other than hss. This 3x that Amazon had for $20 was a no brainer. It’s in perfect condition and spins true. I did upgrade the bushing adaptor and washer as well. I take my sharpening seriously. If anything changes I’ll update.

High quality wheel, bottom grade hardware
I use this wheel for sharping tools. I am using the 80 grit `K’ grade wheel. They do make 100 & 120 grit wheels in the softer `I’ grade. I haven’t burnt an edge yet. Balance is very good when wheel is properly aligned & trued up. The only complaint I have with this wheel is the reducer bushing nest. It is dollar store junk. If you need to reduce down from the 1” id of the wheel, you may wish to order a Forney reducer bushing set. Delivery from Peachtee Woodworking was fast.- 1 star, bushing nest

Softness, very soft and wears quickly.
The wheel seems to be very soft and wears prematurely.

Poorest quality wheel I've ever used
The worst quality and most expensive grinding wheel I have ever used. I go through about 2 grinding stones a year and have always used the cheaper stones. So I thought if I bought a more expensive wheel, maybe it would last longer. When I first mounted this wheel, it wobbled terribly but the instructions on correcting the wobble worked well. Next I had to true it up because it was so out of balance. Finally I get to use it. It works great. Cuts fast, nice and smooth, stays fairly cool, I'm impressed for the first 5 minutes. Then I have to true it up again because of the bounce I start getting and that's the way it continues to go. I can go about 5 minutes before the wheel has to be trued up again. At this rate the wheel will last a quarter of the time at 4 times the price. I never have wobble problems on the cheaper wheels. Norton needs to fix their quality problems. If there was a warranty on this thing, I'd return it but I can find no way to return it.

Another great buy!
This arrived the same time as my wheel dresser which was very quick, the price was reasonable too! I have used a lot of Norton products in the past in the shops I worked in and always been pretty impressed with the quality, I have also read the reviews on these wheels and I have not had any trouble with it so far, I use it to sharpen the tungsten for my Tig welder, no complaints here! Great product!

Bushing set should be upgraded
Plastic bushing set may not work for your grinder. The retaining caps on my Craftsman 6" are cupped, and so allow the bushings to slide from the disk. You could fix this by adding washers to fill the cup space, but I ordered a 1" O.D. to 3/4" I.D. aluminum bushing from Amazon (1" is best length) which fits perfectly without interfering with the the retainer's gripping of the disk. Spins up so well without wobble that it takes a couple of minutes to stop spinning after shutting the grinder off. Grinds well without overheating, but remember this is a "K" grade medium soft abrasive, so harder metals may wear it down sooner, especially if you bear down on the disc or you have a wobble issue. Great for high-speed steel cutting tools.
