I really like this item we had multiple usage with them. Not only can you sort and count them, but you can incorporate them into your sensory activities. You can use them in exploration activities (bug catcher).

These are replacing missing bugs for our discovery toy bug game. The game is discovered and replacement parts on ebay are very expensive. Now I get a whole tub of bugs and the kids are having fun hiding the extras and making/playing new games.

My kid loves these. He puts and plays with them everywhere. Dirt, dumpster truck, bathtub. Even inside my wallet. They come with a lot so when a couple disappear it's not a big deal. They are a decent size and good quality. The colors are also bright. Definitely recommend if your kids are into bugs.

I purchased these at the recommendation of a YouTube homeschooling mother, Jady A. I purchased them for fun but my kids like to sort them by type, color and count them. They also like to pretend play with them. I think it's a fun toy for stimulating their imagination, taking away the stuffy formality of learning etc. They're a great resource to have if you plan on privately home educating your kids
