Same specs as OEM battery for half the cost
My Verizon FIOS battery back-up started beeping three days ago. I thought the OEM battery should last longer. We have had the FIOS service for 3 years.I first checked Verizon's website, and they wanted $35 for the battery. Having purchased other non-OEM replacement batteries for computer back-ups at much lower than OEM cost, I came to Amazon in search of an equivalent battery for the FIOS. I found the UPG Security Alarm System Battery 12V 7.2Ah SLA for half the cost of the OEM battery from Verizon. Having positive experiences with non-OEM batteries of this type, I did not hesitate to order this one.I did read one review where the buyer said that the connectors on his FIOS box did not quite fit the lugs on the battery. I wasn't sure what he was referring to, as I thought these batteries all had the same terminals. But when I received the battery, it did look as though the terminals on this one are slightly shorter than those on the OEM battery. I thought this might present a problem, but I was able, with some coaxing to get the battery installed without assistance. The only problem is that with the slightly shorter terminals, the positive (red) wire in the Verizon box slips off of the battery terminal during the install. I was however, able to hold the positive terminal while pushing the battery into the case, and it stayed on without any further effort. While this is not what I would call a "secure" mechanical connection, and would probably come loose during an earthquake or other physical vibration of the FIOS box, I don't see it as a problem otherwise(I live in New Jersey where we don't have earthquakes of any noticeable level). If this were a critical installation where losing battery power was a serious issue, I would have used a short jumper that can be built from parts available at your local DIY store. This would be a short piece of #18 wire, one male, and one female crimp terminal of the correct size to fit the terminals on the battery and on the FIOS battery leads. The battery itself fits perfectly into the FIOS box. My box is pretty poorly made; the cover doesn't fit all that well, and there are large gaps between the door and the box itself. In any case, it looks like the installation will be fine until the next time I have to replace the battery, which by the way is between 2 and 3 years. I don't care what manufacturers claim for their SLA batteries. I have rarely had any last more than 4 years. The ones in my computer back-ups have to be replaced at 3 year or shorter intervals. So there is no advantage to paying twice the price and getting the same life from the battery. Don't be fooled. This IS the correct battery for the Verizon FIOS battery back-up unit. It has exactly the same electrical specs, is the exact same size, has the same connectors (exception noted above), and is the same chemistry. It will work perfectly, and you will have about $17 to spend on several On-Demand movies from Verizon tonight!

great for VERIZON FIOS
read a review or two that indicated difficulty as a Verizon Fios replacement (in terms of fitting connectors and space). Not true! No problems. Fits exactly as original and beeping instantly stopped driving the family crazy. and costs LESS than ordering from Verizon Fios. BTW, for anyone hearing the beeping, but not receiving the instant Fios message on PC as service task--I feel for you. I had to do the research the hard way after trying to figure out things for over a week and then all of a sudden noticed a pop on my Fios account that said something to the effect of "replace battery." A day late and a dollar short in a way, because the frustration had already been experienced. Battery is awesome. Fios notification could be more timely. That said I also want to include that I was impressed with Fios original battery that lasted 4 1/2 years. Not bad. I'll have to see how long this one lasts.

Great Battery at a Great Price
This battery was the perfect replacement for the back-up battery in my home phone/internet power supply for Verizon Fios. It installed quickly and easily and matched the old battery exactly. Verizon wanted $39.99 plus shipping for their replacement battery and made sure to warn (scare) you about buying a battery that wasn't theirs. I'll say it again. This battery was a perfect replacement. So for only $17.99 and free shipping it certainly was a deal. It arrived promptly and was exactly as described on the web site.

Nice replacement for FIOS box
This worked great for my Verizon FIOS backup box. The beeping from the low battery from my FIOS backup was driving me crazy. Ordered this, installed it in just a few minutes, and we are back up and running with no crazy beeping. It's been a few months and we are still happy with this battery. Good price with fast shipping. Nice alternative to the more expensive Verizon battery.Update 1/12/14: The battery is dead. Less than a year of use. I would give it two stars now.

Pure power
I use these batteries to power my custom built "BassPacks" witch are portable audio systems. These poor batteries are horribly abused by these packs, being lugged around all day, heavily depleted by 30+ amp loads, and driven down to under 10volts. These SLA batteries don't seem to care at all. I am quite impressed with how well these batteries behave :)One of these batteries can supply a 30amp load from a subwoofer amplifier for around 30min or so on music, two of them will run an Alpine MRP-F300 (witch has 60amps of fuzing) on full load (<1%THD) for over an hour before the amp will shut off. Two will power an Alpine MRP-F300 for literally 6+ hours on 50% volumeThese batteries are amazing, i highly recommend them! :)

For fios, only necessary emergency phone service in case of power outage
Well, I wanted this product for a FIOS BBU replacement, to stop the annoying beep the old one made (exactly the same battery that didn't last 5 years but was leaking after about 2 years). Verizon charge you a lot of money for that, amazon is way cheaper, so I give a star for the price. I give another star for the shipping that was impressively fast. But, It seems that the product I received was not charged, so I needed to wait for my verizon panel to recharge it. This allow me to get the best suprise: the battery is actually useless if you don't have a home phone. It s only used for emergency calls and so on in case of power outage. And no battery, no beep. I don't have a home phone, so from now, I won't buy this product anymore.

The perfect solution!
Works great for my Verizon FIOS. I had to get a replacement battery back up...who knew, after about 8 years. I couldn't find one at any of the stores I thought would carry them, like Best Buy, Radio Shack or Home Depot. This battery was a great price and came quickly in the mail, thankfully. My FIOS was beeping to alert the us it needed to be replaced causing me to have to reset the alarm every 24 hours. Annoying! The battery came quickly and ended the problem. Thanks so much! It is universal and works as well as the original that Verizon used.

Worked great!
I must admit that I was a bit sceptical because I still like to touch and feel items before purchasing. But after scouring local retailers I could not find the battery. Our alarm system is about 17 years old. And we had just purchased the house and moved in to find out that the backup battery had been dead for quite awhile. So I got out the manual and figured out the type of battery needed. This price point was competitive, delivery was prompt and the battery works great.
