This series just gets better and better.
This series just gets better with each book. I loved that Michael is the hero in this one. I was so sad that he got his girl stolen in the last book and I had kinda hoped thing would work for him and San the rancher, but Kendra Elliot had a different heroine in store for him. I must admit, I did guess the baddie early on, but had no idea as to a possible motive and there were a lot of plot twists I just did not see coming. That didn't detract at all from the pulse pounding suspense or the wonderful insta attraction romance. When multiple unmarked graves are discovered on an abandoned dairy farm near Salem, Oregon, it starts a chain of events that opens the wounds of a lot of people and reminds a killer that his job isn't done. Investigative reporter Michael Brody has more than a professional interest in the remains as it turns out that these are the remains of children who got on a school bus after a field trip and were never seen again. Eighteen years is a long time for anything to remain hidden. When one of the children appeared two years after the bus went missing, everyone hoped Chris Jacobs would have answers, but he had no memory of what had happened. Michael's brother was one of the missing children and his body was not among those recovered. Michael sets out to find the now adult Chris Jacobs and get some answers from him.Jamie Jacobs got her brother back, but he was not the same happy kid who left on the bus that day. When Michael approaches her to help him find her brother, she has no interest in causing Chris additional pain and refuses to help Michael. Chris has been in hiding for years, but with events happening, Jamie decides to help Michael and together they set out to solve the mysteries surrounding this tragic event once and for all. But they aren't the only ones looking for Chris and it is a matter of life or death that they fine him first.

Another fast-paced mystery/thriller by Kendra Elliot
One of my favorite female mystery writers is Kendra Elliot, her books are fast-paced and the plot lines pull you in. From those who have read my previous reviews, you will remember meeting Chris Jacobs in the later books - he is the one who married Dr. Gianna Trask. Now we go back a few books to Buried where it starts with a 13-year-old being found who claims he is Chris Jacobs. 18 years later, a group of bodies of children and a few adults is found and an old school bus. 20 years a school bus filled with students disappeared and vanished, there were no leads ever and families were left with no closure including Michael Brody. When he hears the bodies have been found, he hopes one of those is his brother Daniel as only Chris came home. Turns out though that Daniel's body isn't among those found and now the only person who knows the truth about what happened and hopefully can give Michael some answers is Chris Jacobs. The thing is he went off the grid and even his sister Jamie has no idea where he is exactly. When she is attacked, she knows things are grim for Chris and so with Michael's help, she will reluctantly hunt down her brother and the pair of them will discover some dark secrets along the way of what their brother's experience was like. I loved the twist of Buried and as I had read later books in the series, I knew parts that were coming but if you haven't then the twists will blow your mind. If you are looking for a new mystery writer to add to your list of authors to check out - then add Kendra Elliot as you will not be disappointed.

Buried Is A Riveting Read
Twenty years ago, a school bus taking nine children home from a field trip vanished. One child on the bus, Daniel Brody, is the younger brother of Michael Brody. Michael was introduced in Hidden, the first book in the Bone Secrets series. He is intense and spontaneous, as an investigative reporter and as a man. His astute reporting has solved innumerable cases but not the one that matters most, what happened to his brother? Two years after the bus disappeared, the only survivor, Chris Jacobs, emerged from the woods. At thirteen, he was badly beaten, emaciated, and near death, with no memory of the atrocities that he had endured. His only memory about his nightmare is that the Ghostman did it. At 18, Chris goes into hiding out of fear that the Ghostman will find and kill him.The remains of the driver and the children, with one exception, are found on an abandoned farm, eighteen years after Chris Jacobs escaped. The missing child is Daniel. Michael's parents never have recovered from Daniel's disappearance at Michael's emotional expense. While carrying the pain of his dysfunctional relationship with his parents, he vows that he will find out the reason Daniel's remains are not with the other children.Michael's only hope is to find Chris Jacobs and question him about Daniel. Unfortunately, Chris' whereabouts is unknown. Michael's only lead is Chris' sister,Jamie who does not know where her brother lives. She communicates with her brother by leaving voice mails and he calls her back. Jamie has not seen him since he left home.Michael has some leads as to where Chris lives. Michael wants Jamie's help . She cannot fathom just taking off to find her brother until her house is ransacked and she is attacked by a person the police believe may be the Ghostman. Worried that the Ghostman may find her brother, she goes with Michael.During their search for Chris, they discover their mutual attraction. The characters have their issues but are very likable. Jamie and Michael are diametrical opposites. She requires an organized, non-spontaneous life. He is impetuous. Michael quickly decides, nonetheless, that Jamie is the One. Jamie adapts to Michael's lifestyle. But, it takes her a little longer to discover her feelings for him.Unfortunately, as a result of their search, mayhem ensues. Eventually, the motive for the kidnapping and the persons responsible are discovered. The twists along the way are great and very unexpected. The growth of the characters is believable and befitting. They all are able to heal in various degrees,as well, uplifting the reader with the ending.Buried is a somewhat uncomfortable read, at first, since children are involved. However, Kendra Elliot handles a difficult topic about the children with a light pen, not any easy task.Although Buried is the third book in the Bone Secrets series, it is a stand-alone read.I prefer to read books in a series in order. I would definitely recommend the first two books, Hidden and Chilled, respectively.I highly recommend Buried to any reader who genuinely enjoys Romantic Suspense, that is, a balance between the two genres.

Even though it tackles some uncomfortable topics it is the best book in the series.
Buried is Kendra Elliot's third book in the Bone Secrets series. Having read the other two books I must admit that they get better as they progress. Each book features a main character who appears as supporting characters in the other books. It's a great way to keep a familiar feel to a series without having each book cover the same characters. In this book we once again meet up with the gorgeous Michael Brody who was infatuated with Lacey Campbell in the first book. Michael drops his journalist hat when he has a personal agenda after a grisly mass grave found in the woods. Two decades after the disappearance of a bus load of children, their remains are found with strong indications of child abuse. Michael hurries to the site to hopefully lay to rest his missing brother only to find that his brother's remains unaccounted for. And so begins the hunt for his missing brother where Michael teams up with the lovely Jamie, the sister of the only known survivor of the abduction and abuse. However, it seems like the original child sex offender and murderer is on the loose trying to silence the remaining survivor. This book is full of graphic violence, kidnapping, beatings and fight scenes. It's very tastefully written and totally gripping and in my opinion, it is the best book by far. The romance between Jamie and Michael is well written and I'm thankful that it's not over the top. I'm looking forward to Veiled, the next book in the series.

Loved This One By Her
I loved this one by her. I liked the first but wasn't THAT excited by it. The second I passed on as it didn't sound my type of thing but this one was superb. You don't need to have read all of them as each is a stand-alone story in itself.I spotted not one spelling mistake again and only one missed word in a sentence. That is superb and makes such a difference so I'll definitely be getting her newest story out next month.I liked Michael and Jamie a great deal. Both nice people who'd had traumatic childhoods blighted when their brothers were part of a school bus of kids all kidnapped.I thought the story was a fascinating one. At odd times it seemed a tad farfetched but certainly not heading over into fanciful which I can't be doing with.I laughed reading the author's acknowldegements especially the one to Charlotte who "gently lets me know when I've created unlikeable characters". Yayyyy for Charlotte !! I also found it amusing reading about the author where it states she graduated with a journalism degree and went on to become a dental hygienist....as you do !This book had another very eye-catching cover as well. I miss a good cover reading on devices as opposed to holding the real thing in my hands but space dicatates I can't do that these days.

A good tale well told
This is a very well told tale centring on the discovery of the site where gruesome murders and torture took place several years in the past. A school bus had been hijacked and all the children and the driver had vanished. At first it seemed that one child had escaped and the story is of the search for this missing child and the murderer. It is a refreshingly complex plot with several realistic characters. There is a background romance between the lead female character and the hero, who had both lost brothers on the fateful trip. Given the low esteem generally held of US (or any) politicians the end twist was not really a surprise. Graphic violence is never far from the surface, but is maintained at a level consistent with the story, the nature of which is quite disquieting.

Loved it. I
I really enjoyed this book. I found it kept my interest all the way through. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I shall have to get the next one. I hope it has some of the same characters.
