Bought these on sale, I've recently (since lockdown in March) discovered I can actually draw so I've been powering through pencils like a mad woman, got to the stage i needed an electric sharpener as I was getting blisters from sharpening so often lol these pencils are great! Vivid colour, the black is very black, which sounds stupid but it's hard to find a decent black. I illustrate and write weekly letters to my father drawing first off dogs which I was terrible at then birds which I find I have a knack for then I just jumped in to anything nature. He looks forward to them and I make sure I draw lots of pictures to help break up the monotony of my scrawlings, so I go through aloooot of pencils. I highly recommend these ones. I have tried many. The last 'professional' set I bought were awful and are banished to back of the cupboard. These are very good and probably won't be long til I need more!

Firstly - The pencils were delivered without any external packaging (no cardboard/paper/bubble wrap) and I have found when trying to sharpen them that many of the leads are breaking. I suspect because they were sent just as they are (thin tin casing) that they had probably been bashed about a lot in transit. Very disappointing as this renders them pretty useless and very frustrating to work with.Secondly - the pencils leads are hard but brittle and poorly pigmented meaning colour transfer to the medium is awful. I purchased them predominantly for doll/model repainting as they are a staple for any doll artist however they are simply not up to the job. Lesson - don't skimp, go for the big brands!

A good range if colours which blend well. Important to use on watercolour paper or card as blending is compromised when using on normal card. I have found that I need to press a little harder when using the lighter colours. Some of the leads broke when sharpening them, which was a little irksome, so didn't sharpen to a point which meant that colouring detail was a little tricky. Don't know if I got a batch that had been dropped? This may not happen with all sets, but have only experience of this one.

When I ordered these I was a little dubious as they were cheap but wow what a wonderful find, the colours are bright, the leads are soft to draw but strong and non breakable, they blend amazingly well together, I will most def be recommending these to all my arty crafty friends

Really enjoying giving these a go, bought mainly for my crafty daughter to occupy her during half term but have also used myself, overall we found them better than watercolour pens. We also did what another reviewer suggested and did a base layer and then added further detail etc once dry. Haven’t tried sharpening them yet, hoping that’s not a disaster- will update the review if so

Lovely set, great colours when used dry or wet. However, when pencils need sharpening they break all the time.
