I started looking for slingback socks after every single pair of liners I had would slide off my heel even with the silicone grip. These are the BEST of the six different versions of slingback socks I tried.It's true that these are tighter for my 9.5 to 10 shoe size but they in no way were unwearable and they did not leave a big red indent in my heel after 8 hours of wear. The only suggestion I can make is wearing the slingback lower on the heel bone as opposed to the fleshy tendon area. I think that helps. They do not show in my flats and there is also just enough coverage on the sides of the foot that they protect the metatarsal bone (or bunions) from blisters. They are a nice, breathable, cotton-y fabric and they make my flats feel as comfortable as tennis shoes.Unfortunately, they were so stretched over my larger foot size that they were nearly transparent. That's the reason for the loss of one star. I hope they begin making these in a slightly larger size. If not, I will snip the back and add an inch of elastic. But they were that same sheer, non-absorbent fabric that left my feet freezing and had the toe seam across the front. They also had non-stick grips on the bottom that hurt to walk on and would pull the sock off my pinky toe because they don't move with your feet.5. Obviously, they can't be worn with skirts but with pants they work wonderfully. They don't show but cover the metatarsal bone and are comfortable. The seam is over the top of the toes and the ankle stays up. My only gripe is that I wish they made a warmer sock with maybe a sheer layer over the top of the foot. Because they lacked in that area I ended up purchasing a nude fleece sock that is AMAZING. I love this! They stay in your shoes and my toes don’t come out, they don’t move around when you walk.
