The Pool-Mate is the only fully automatic Swimming Computer. Have you found yourself halfway through a swimming session wondering how many lengths you have done? Every wondered what your total distance swam is, how efficient your stroke is or how many calories your have burnt? If so, then here is the answer for you! The Pool-Mate is a speed-distance system for the pool. This watch comes packed full of features and will really help you get the most out of your swimming sessions. NO BUTTON PRESSING NEEDED! Containing accurate motion sensors the Pool-Mate automatically recognises swim strokes and laps so you don't have to count anymore. Once you have pressed start and commenced your swim no more button presses are needed (until the end!) as the motion sensors detect everything, the watch will know how many lengths you have swum and how many strokes you are making per length. From recreational lap swimmer to professional Olympian, the Pool-Mate can help your training. Leaving the lap counting to the Pool-Mate lets you concentrate on your swimming. As well as lap counting the Pool-Mate will do much more. It will display and store Session Time, Average Strokes per lap, Speed, Distance, Calories and Efficiency. In addition to the statistics for the overall session it will record the same data for each individual set so you can see how all these metrics change through a swim session. You can even time your rest periods between sets. All data is stored in a large memory for review during or after a swim session.

Pool-mate
After the initial rather complicated set up, I must say, I like this watch. It counts laps...and is incredibly accurate. It does everything, but defogger your goggles. For the price, it's a great watch for pool workouts.

No more counting laps
One thing a swimmer doesn't want to do, is to count laps. For the most part, it's very simple and easy to use. No frills and with No method to download stats to the computer as seen on more expensive models, the feature set will be limited. Sometimes it gets confused and doesn't count some laps but that only happens very rarely. While at the pool I still see others constantly look at the pool clock to check their speed and I'm glad I no longer am part of that crowd. Sometimes when I try to improve my time I simply glance at the running time on my watch, which others have said is not do-able, but I don't see it as an issue. If you wanna take an extra breathe before continuing there is a mechanism in place to allow you to do that, simply press pause and then press pause again to continue.

This item should be simple to uses not so. ...
This item should be simple to uses not so. Too many button that need do be push to set laps, and time. Try to save money not worth it.

Swimovate Pool-Mate
The pool mate works really well and is very easy to use. As previous reviewers noted, it detects any swim style. Very happy with the pool mate!

Still brilliant after a year
I bought this watch a year ago... and has been my constant companion for a year of swimming12 miles a week to get fit.Yes... you need to wear it on your stronger arm... because that is the arm that you start the first stroke after a nice glide off the turnYes... it occasionally misses a length... or gives you a bonus one... but it is a down sight more reliable than the expensive ones that some of my fellow swimmers have... and everybody I have recommended to buy one has been equally delighted...Battery working fine one year on... only gone down from level 6 to level 5 in one year...it is only switching the light on that depletes the battery fast...Plus... I can always fiind it becuase of its funky blue colour...This is the swim watch to buy

Good for front crawl/freestyle but not good for breaststroke or backstroke
Never left a review before but thought i would in case any swimmers who swim mostly breastroke or backstroke (can't do fly so unsure how it works for that stroke) are looking to buy this watch. The works pretty spot on for front crawl - occasionally misses the odd length - as i finish a long set and end up on an even number sinetad of odd but know by the time that set took me that that the count is almost spot on.However when i do breaststroke - which i think i do pretty well and do a good glide at the start of each length (which is on the troubleshooting instrustions for if lengths are getting missed), it picks up maybe 3-4 out of every 8. Backstroke is equally as patchy - slightly harder to guage the problem as i'm alway wary of bashing my head on the end of the pool so may hold one arm out straight slightly longer than needed but this is poor if this is all that negates the length.overall not a major issue as the bulk of my training is crawl - fyi using a pull buoy is still as accurates are using paddles - but it is annoying when i'm mixing up my strokes and doing interval stuff etc as i have to be guided by the time i swim rather than the total number of lengths.

Does just what is says
I have been looking for something like this for a while and was pleased when I saw something that said exactly what I wanted. I was very suprised when I tried it and it worked. It seems to catch every length, unless you stop in the middle. It is easy to read to check the lengths and time while swimming. I found the instructions clear and the information it provided useful, although I dont believe I can possible use the amount of calories it says. I would recomend it if you dont want to count laps.

Thewatch is excellent for swimming crawl
The watch is excellent for swimming crawl, and rarely misses a length. However i find it tends to miss a few lengths when doing breast stroke or back stroke.I have also noticed that it can stop counting if doing a prolonged kick sequence, which has caught me out as I didn't realise and therefore didn't switch it back on.I also have found on a few occasions i have accidentally deleted a log as i pressed the wrong button.Overall I'm very pleased with it as it is accurate and its better than me keeping count of my lengths! It is a very useful training aid!
