Great tote
Only had to use it once so far but was simple to use, had to pull it up a hill and having 4 tires made it effortless. Rhino ones were all back ordered which I see most people with but needed one right away so gave it a shot and have no regrets with this product and price is better than the Rhino ones.

Thetford Smart tote 2
Alright here we go:I ordered the Thetford smart tote 2 (35 gallon) portable rv waste disposal tank believing that this would be easier than running a couple hoses at our camp.GREAT IDEA RIGHT/ WRONG!I have to say right up front that I ordered this a full year before actually using it cuz we are RV'ers so naturally we don't use it all the time. Finally, this summer we had the need for using it so I brought it out and tried it for the FIRST time.1] Upon opening the hose compartment and for the FIRST time extending the hose to connect it to our RV's dump pipe the hose actually tore apart from dry rot!Can you believe it: DRY ROT!There was no way I could connect the hose from the Thetford Smart tote to our RVFortunately I always carry extra hoses so I figured that I could easily repair the rotten hose: WRONG!The connection might fit - but the hose is actually smaller than the average hose so there was no way I could disconnect the hose from the tank to install a new one using a standard sewer hose cuz it won't fit.The Thetford hose was clamped on and was a real pain in the butt to remove because of there is a metal bar that obstructs removing it so it literally took me a 1/2 hour to get the thing off - Only to find that my hose would not fit the connector piece and seeing as how I don't travel with glue and other accessories I couldn't have connected it to the thetford connector piece anyway.Solution: I destroyed one of my sewer hoses and clamped it onto the dump outlet area.2] Like I said: We bought the 35 gallon tank. After filling the tank with our black water waste I tried to move this thing: HOLY COW!Do you have any idea how much a tank full of waste water, feces, toilet paper, etc weighs?A LOT!Just try dragging this 35 gallon heavy tank across stones. The video shows a guy doing it but they don't show him struggling like you will have to in order to tote this thing across really uneven terrain.3] After dragging this thing to the dump area at our camp we began to empty it.Again - not an easy task!We had to actually lift the stupid thing up to empty it completely because the dump intake was as high as the dump outlet on the smart tote so it wouldn't empty completely without being raised up.All in all I would NOT recommend to anyone that they by this incredibly bad-engineered piece of garbage.

RV Portable Tote
I like how it's built to last, easy to use and comes with what you need to get the job done. So far this one is better than the one I bought before and easier to tow behind my vehicle.

Good way to travel your extra sewage
We bought this poo tank so we didn’t have to bring our camp trailer down from the mountain every week. We learned a lot our first time. #1 the handle is great when it’s empty, but relatively useless when it’s full. #2 we had to order extra gaskets as the one that was provided went down the drain our first time emptying the unit. #3 we also decided to buy extra hose to use when emptying so we don’t have to unload the unit from our truck while full (getting it up the ramp while full is difficult enough). #4 our first time emptying the unit was a crap-fest. The people in line behind us got quite a laugh from watching us I’m sure. The connections did not stay together, resulting in A sewage explosion. So just know it’s not going to be as easy as it looks. If your just using this in an RV park and don’t have to travel a long ways to dump the sewage I can see it would be easier to just pull behind an ATV or vehicle. As we are using it in the mountains and the dump site is 40 miles away the pull behind feature is not something we utilize.Overall it is helpful, but I’m not sure if it is worth the price. You can make it work tho.

Do not waste your money on a SmartTote
I bought the SmartTote2 three months ago. When it arrived, the cover lid that houses the hose was broken. I called the Thetford (The manufacturer) and was on hold for over an hour. I tried the following day and again was on terminal hold. They had an option to have someone call me, but it took a day and of course I was on a work call and could not answer. I figured it was not worth my time. I found a company through Amazon where I could purchase a replacement lid. After ordering the replacement, I received an email that the item was out of stock. I have only used the SmartTote2 three times now. This last time, I filled the SmartTote2 and drove to a nearby rest stop that has a dump station. As I was stretching the hose to ensure I have enough length to reach without having to unload the tank from my trailer, the hose completely broke off where it attaches to the SmartTote2. Yes, waste is now flowing everywhere. That is worth repeating, WASTE WAS FLOWING EVERYWHERE. And no way to stop it. POOR QUALITY PRODUCT. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

It provided an easy way to empty sewage.
We used ours all summer this year and it was a life savor! My wife is used to using water at home and is adjusting to trailer life. lol! I emptied every day that we were at the marina/campground. I easily emptied from camper to cart and used the golf cart to pull to dump station. Connections were easy on the camper and at the dump station. I highly recommend and will probably buy another one.

The accessory top door part no. 40761 was broken not made very well.
It looks sturdy but the wheels come off to easily and the storage compartment is not right. The top door was broken when I received it and even if it wasn’t the way it was made it would have broken soon just by using it. The plastic hinge would have worn out quickly. While you are pulling it and you get to the dump station and try to turn around the wheels get stuck under the base of the unit. Did anyone ever test this when it was full? I was pulling it on a paved area not even in the grass. Also I know the parts need to fit tight but I could not get the attachments to close all the way and was worried they would come lose while I was emptying the sewer and gray water out.

A must have for a week long camping trips!!
We ordered this three days prior to going on a long camping trip. It came really quickly. It is so easy to use. I have a 30 gallon grey tank and a 30 gallon black tank. I can almost empty both on one run to the dump site. It works great at State parks because they always have water hookups but not sewage. We can stay a week and never have to move our trailer. It also attaches easily to the hitch.

Better to empty it before it gets completely full!
I live alone in an rv - use the tank to take waste to local rv park to dispose - works great, when completely full it is very heavy ( I load it onto a flatbed trailer…. Wouldn’t want to try to lift it full!) no problems has made the trip 6 times to date

Almost perfect solution to a less than fun problem.
The unit generally speaking works well but there are a couple of things preventing that 5th star - both to do with the hose. First off, it is really short. Fully extended, the hose is about 1m long. That isn't a huge problem if you are parked in a field with easy access to the waste tube on the trailer. But if you are on uneven ground or can't get to the waste tube, then you could do with a longer hose. Not a problem, I have other hoses...just extend - and that brings us to the second issue. The connector on this unit is terrible. The slightest bump and its off, leaking the nasty all over the place until you notice and reconnect. I have only used the unit once. In the space of draining a 2/3 full grey tank (thank goodness it didn't let go on the black), it came loose four times. It couldn't be put on any tighter, the pin is tight against the end of the 'loop' - but there isn't a detent for the pin to 'lock in' so it easily slides open.So that was the bad. The good was it was easy to pull when filled about 1/2 full up a 7% hill; more than that, the easy hitch hook made towing with the vehicle a snap. Fit nicely over a 2.5" ball - and this 'locked' in once pulling. I didn't wait until the tanks were full, so I can't speak to the utility of the 'full gauge' but the system seemed to be simple enough - I would cut flow as soon as it started to move as you will have waste in the tube to deal with otherwise. The wheels roll well, and the unit is sturdy.

Nice and easy to use
Nice and easy to use. The beauty in not having to pack up stuff and move just to empty my tanks is HUGE.
