This seems like a fake to me
I have purchased and used Danncy vanilla many times before. I recently ran out and ordered this product. This seems like a fake to me. I was first suspicious when I noticed the bottles appeared overfilled. Then, when opened, the smell was off from other Danncy vanillas I have used. But the deciding factor is the taste. I just made a pie that I've made every Thanksgiving and Christmas for the last 15 years or more. The taste is completely off. I tasted the chocolate pie filling an hour ago, and I still have a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. I'm going to have to throw out the pie I just made, and make another NOT using this vanilla (or whatever it is). When attempting to start the refund process a message popped up saying it is not eligible for return. I've emailed customer service. I hope they do the right thing and give me a refund, because this stuff is inedible.

This is NOT Vanilla!
I read reviews before I make a purchase. I rely heavily on reviews because I trust that others experiences with products can make or break a sale. Having said that, I am an avid baker for over 30 years now and I use a lot of vanilla. And with the prices of vanilla beans being so high, it's hard to afford extract on a limited budget. When I first saw this Danny Mexican Vanilla I read many of the reviews and the first time I passed on it even though it was so reasonable and so abundant. Always remember one key phrase when buying anything... You get what you pay for. This is NOT Vanilla! Not even remotely smells like vanilla. It smells like a mix of turpentine and antifreeze. I couldn't get that odor out of my nose and I second guessed my fellow reviewers. My apologies! I have no idea what is in those two large water bottles, but I am positive that it is NOT Vanilla. Be warned, if someone says that they have used it for years or mom and grandmom did then they have never used REAL vanilla or even know what it is supposed to taste and smell like. So the price may look good, but you will be wasting your hard earned money just to save some money. Sorry, but I can't in good conscience recommend this product.

I'll just have to live with poor quality vanilla until the prices get more reasonable again
This vanilla tastes VERY weak, watered down. It's water based rather than alcohol so it doesn't have any punch. I guess you get what you pay for, but with true vanilla extract at astronomical prices (up over 500% in the last year), I'll just have to live with poor quality vanilla until the prices get more reasonable again.

as I love to bake as a hobby
I was originally so thrilled to find "PURE" vanilla at such a reasonable price, as I love to bake as a hobby. Unfortunately, this past weekend was the first time that I tried this product, and there is NO WAY THIS IS PURE VANILLA! Not only is it a watered-down product, but my imitation vanilla has more of a vanilla flavor than this product. I am VERY disappointed in this product.

Yuk!
The color is the same, but the flavor definitely is NOT the same!!! They've diluted it!!! I've been buying this Danncy dark vanilla for 40 years. This is not the good stuff!!!!

SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS!!!
Like most everything else on Amazon, when you get a lot of scathing, horrible reviews and equally number of good reviews, something is wrong, majorly wrong. I went against my better judgement and bought this after seeing someone use this on a youtube channel. regardless. there is some kind of vanilla in there but there is also something else, something you definitely DO NOT want in whatever your eating. A lingering chemically aftertaste that is inexplicitly BAD. I tried ungodly amounts of sugar to mask it, NOPE, but I halfway expected this after reading the reviews. After looking up Danncys website, I came across 9 yes NINE different 'Danncy Vanilla' websites all claiming to be the original, most products look the similar, though the bottles were different in some but most importantly the telephone and addresses in Mexico were all different. So yes, this is probably some sort of counterfeit Vanilla, and who knows what is in there. So yes, this is probably some sort of counterfeit Vanilla, and you don't know what your putting in your body. It seems to be cut/diluted with water and maybe some other type of chemical? not sure exactly but id bet there isn't much regulation on fake products imported from Mexico. In times like this it is better to be safe than sorry. I understand that it is considerably cheaper than McCormick or regular Vanilla extract but, for me. this does not cut the cake! To me, it tastes like imitation vanilla with a splash of arsenic. Be safe everyone. If you read this review and still buy this product... It is YOUR duty to write your own review of your mistake, so more people can hopefully understand what they are buying.. because there doesn't seem to be much oversight or quality control here and there are A LOT of FAKE reviews.. Im sure the ACTUAL Danncy Vanilla is really good ,but, I wouldn't trust ANY seller on here to buy it from.Or maybe this is what Mexican Vanilla is supposed to taste like... but I highly doubt it.

THE BEST Vanilla - period!
100% pure vanilla that tastes like no other vanilla I've ever used, little taste of heaven! Put just a dab or two in cream while whipping, and the flavor goes up 1000%. It isn't overpowering, just enhances the flavor. There is no comparison between this vanilla and "store bought" kind or even other Mexican vanillas. I would use 1/2 the amount called for in recipes, but since the bottles come in pairs, go ahead and use the full measurement. :) As an old TV commercial used to say, "Try it- you'll like it!".

Flavour is not good
Not a fan of this vanilla. I get it’s supposed to have a “coconut cinnamon” flavour but it’s way too strong, it does smell like furniture Polish! It was fine in a batch of cookies I made, not noticeable, but I intended to use it for ice cream making and the flavour is not good in the batches i tried. I do not recommend! Shame, as the price is right.
