We have just had a major bathroom update with new shower and sparkly wet board on the walls. The contractor suggested that we replace our black ceramic floor tiles with black sparkly ones and although the tiles have been laid for well over a decade, the only thing wrong with them was the grout discolouration. There was going to be considerable mess and expense involved in digging up and replacing the existing floor tiles and we opted to keep them and replace the grout as a DIY project with the Glitter Grout Gold Ready Mixed Glitter Crystal Fix & Grout. Removing the old grout with a grout removal tool was tedious rather than difficult and refilling with the gold glitter grout was comparatively easy and quick.We were pleased with the results and although the grout between the tiles is only about 7mm wide, it does have a lot of gold sparkle in it and it shows. Is it as good as sparkly tiles? No. Is it a big improvement on the old grout? Yes, it makes the floor tiles in keeping with the updated bathroom at a considerable cost saving.

This ready mixed glitter grout comes well packaged in a cardboard box and arrived with no spills or splits from the tub. The grout can be used for fixing wall and floor tiles and can also be used as a grout. When you first open the tub, you have to remove a white layer of plastic to reveal the grout underneath. It mixes well and has a good ratio of grout and glitter which gives you a white grout with gold glitter detailing. It has a decent consistency which I found easy to apply to the wall and it has a decent grip on the tile. I did end up using a standard tile adhesive to stick the tiles to the wall and using the glitter grout to fill in the gaps between the tiles. This makes the glitter grout last longer and you can’t tell you didn’t use it behind the tile. This is a decent tile grout that has a decent grip and is easy to use. It does require a good mixing before you use it to mix in the glitter properly to get a good consistent mixture…

I used the smallest amount of this in our laundry room and wish I’d never used it. It got glitter absolutely everywhere and the stuff was a nightmare to get off of places I didn’t want it. Ended up giving up.

Before opening, I looked at the size of this grout and looked at the price and assumed it would be awful quality.To my surprise, its actually very decent.Applies easily, either by finger or by tool.Took a little while to dry but I prefer it like that.Colour was fine after drying and I didn't come across any cracking.Time will tell if this stuff holds up, but the end result currently looks great.
