George Muller: The Guardian of Bristol's Orphans (Christian Heroes: Then and Now)

We bought this to gift to a young teenager but it arrived too late and I ended up reading it on my own. The story is truly inspiring and very well-written. An excellent read for 10-12 year olds (+ or -). We are wanting our children to read "better" books and this one I would highly recommend.

I read this account aloud to our four boys (ages 10, 8, 7 & 5) and they all loved it. There were at least ten times where God’s faithfulness & provision was so overwhelming beautiful that I would choke up and they’d all go, “Mom’s crying again!” Ha! Lord Jesus, You are magnificent. What a wonderful, intentional Savior! We enjoyed every second of this story.

This book is written very well (just like the others in this outstanding series). It’s simple enough language to keep the attention of my children but not so simple that it would be classified as a children’s book and very enjoyable to read.The story itself will make you think. If George could pray and trust God to meet his needs, why can’t I do the same? By the time I finished it, I was looking at my own life and figuring out what areas I need give over to God and just trust that He will provide while I do.

It is so good book

This book has been one of my favorites for years, and I just purchased and read again. If you are someone who has a heart for adoption...this book is totally for you! It's a biography, but it is so entertaining and written in an excellent style that keeps you engaged with George's story. Great for kids-I first read it when I was 9 years old, but now it is almost 20 years later, and I still love it!

George Müller's biographical story blew my mind with the miracles he expected and received from God to help others! Thousands of Bristol orphans came to bless his name. This true story teaches the power of faith in serving ones fellowman, and in letting God guide ones life.

I’ve been searching for a good audio book for the van rides. This is exactly what I was hoping for. All the children love it and we do too. It is very inspirational and encouraging.

Love these books. Well written, great details. Not sure why they are listed as children's books, should be listed for ALL ages. I'm in my 60's and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!

This is one of my favourite books ever! I've finished it, but I'm looking forward to the second round! I visited the George Müller museum in Bristol, and one lovely lady, who was visiting too, recommended the book to me. Thank you SO much!

An excellent book written in a clear and simple language but which can be enjoyed by adults I m a grown up and couldn't leave the book. My only regret is to have finished my reading. Very good for specific historic information...above all boosts faith in a powerful and loving God

You want to know if God really does answer prayers then read this book.A selfless man that God trusted with so much because Muller knew His God.

Very inspiring and strong testimony of someone who decide fully trust and obey God. And it is also true story!

I’ve found this book an amazing eye-opener about the change God wants to make in all our lives when we accept Him as Lord. George was utterly down and out, but his life turned round 180 degrees when he turned to God. His life was ultimately hugely purposeful as he just took God’s promises to care for his needs, resulting in thousands of lives being saved from off the streets. That’s a fact because the thousands who turned up at his funeral proved that! I’m now reading a more detailed biography of him. I want to know God like George Muller!!
