so they are fresh tasting and the quality is great.
Hard to find Panko in whole wheat, but when you do, there are usually only a few boxes. Since I use them not only to coat food for frying or oven-baking -- but also in meat loaf, etc., in place of bread crumbs, I don't want to be running to the store all the time. Buying a multi-pack online through Amazon proves to be the solution. These crumbs are sealed, so they are fresh tasting and the quality is great.

Had to order, can't get around here
I use panko crumbs in a lot of ways, but I wanted the healthier whole wheat ones. Found them and ordered. Had to get a pack of 6, but I shared some of them and I know I will get this used up. They had a good, almost nutty flavor to my fish and chicken and meatloaf.

Good for my crab cake recips
I'm originally from MD., the king of crab cakes state and trying to find a good one where I live now is next to impossible. I finally found a Maryland crab cake recipe which calls for panko and this makes it right. I bought this just for the crab cakes. Wonderful. I'm sure it would be good for other things but somebody else would have to comment about that! This is light and not as heavy as other types of bread crumbs.

Roland Panko Whole Wheat Breadcrumb. 7-Ounce (pack of six)
These are very good bread crumbs, you can use them for so many things, I have used them to coat zucchini rolled in oil, then in the bread crumbs and parmesan, then bake them, at 400.

Whole Wheat crumbs from Roland are rancid!
I typically have been purchasing these at Whole Foods and a local natural food store for several years. They were my go to panko product. In January, I was told Whole Foods discontinued them so was thrilled to find these at Amazon online. I am a "clean" eater not wanting to consume refined flours/sugar/etc so I use these for onion rings, chicken parmesan, eggplant, etc. After searching other stores without success for these, I placed an order January 2019 for a case package of 6 (7 oz bags) on Amazon. I stored the unopened box in my cold unheated pantry. They were not exposed to heat at ANY time. When I opened a bag 6 weeks later and they were rancid! I opened up another -- also rancid.(Box of 6 labeled, "Item 87510" from "Lot 54"). All the individual bags have a number of S0303 on them. I suspect that the palm oil used in them was rancid. The return window closed on Feb 5, 2019 so I am disappointed that I cannot use the product and lost money. I have bought these off store shelves for YEARS and always had them for several months without issue!! Wheat does not go rancid if kept cold. They had to have been exposed to heat before shipping (and as they are a product of Taiwan it's more likely rancidity occurred in their storage houses). It just seems like very old stock and makes perfect sense since stores have told me they were discontinued.I do not recommend these be purchased. If these were discontinued by stores, then we are getting old rancid stock.I am disappointed. I was so looking forward to having an inventory of panko that I finally eat.I have used Roland WW panko crumbs for years and have never had an issue with rancidity ordering from store shelves. I will not be ordering ever again.
