12V 24 V DC 5.5mm x 2.1mm Car Cigarette Lighter Extension Power Supply Adapter Cable with LED for Car Truck Bus Van(10FT)

I purchased this to power a small DC device and the cable between the plugs is quite thick - almost the width of the 5.5mm plug! If you're wanting a small, flexible cable for low voltage, you might look for a smaller diameter cable than this.The automotive/cig-lighter plug also has a red LED when connected (they all seem to be that way). It is possible to open the plug and cut the resistor and LED to disable it without affecting normal operation.

The problem I am having with this power cord is the cigarette lighter plug keeps disconnecting. You push it and it eventually pushes itself out. The spring loaded tip is too strong. It needs to be weaker.

The spring loaded end seems to overpower the spring loaded side clips and it pops loose after a while. Might work better on tighter sockets. I used it on a Jackery.

This works ok, but it gets hot after a little while. I don't like that it gets hot to the touch after about 30 minutes of use, but it does work as intended.

I bought two of these 12V adapter cables for my telescope setup. The originals got broken when the scope tipped over. While they do work, they don’t work well. The cigarette lighter male sockets are too narrow and when I plug them into my power supply, the connection is dodgy at best and totally unreliable. I’m going to have to put duct tape on each end to get the plug to center within the socket without wobble. They could’ve been a lot better. Jury’s still out on whether I’ll trash them or make them work. Not recommended.

Better quality than what I was able to find at the local auto parts stores.
