Does excellent job where access is possible
I have a Oral Breeze QuickBreeze and have nothing but praise for this sturdy and economical product that does everything it is supposed to do. The Deep Pocket Irrigator does an excellent job of irrigating deep pockets with tap water as well, except for being unable to reach the back molars on the tongue (lingual) side and on the side of one's back (dorsal side). It would be able to reach more parts of the mouth if the metal tip was bent or angled instead of straight. If the company would introduce an improved angled version of this device, I would definitely buy it.

Reviewing the Oral Breeze Irrigator Syringes
I'm 62 y.o. with braces, yes braces lol! I have not been able to floss b/c my tri-focals go blurry trying to thread through the braces the floss beyond the 2nd bicuspids. I was constantly using those proximabrush travelers -- and still do but only when I am away from my home. It was then I finally began looking into oral irrigators. I looked at the self-contained water units and they seemed nice until I realized I'd be relying on a machine with a motor and hard water and Lord help me if I ran the unit dry and burned out the motor. And then I couldn't vary the temperature at will from cold to warm and again it took up space I did not wish to sacrafice. Then I came across Oral Breeze where I could hook it up to either the bathroom sink or shower head. I elected the shower head and with the six foot cord I can hang it on the 'shower rack', conveniently out of the way. I have tried the red, blue nozzles which are high flow plastic water units with an angled tip and the low flow straight-designed Cannula tip which looks at first glance like Dentist's syringe needle. I use the blue or red flexed plastic tips faithfully following every time I eat or snack. I even enjoy taking a shower while I am using it. When I am not showering I will run it on cold to blow out all the food stuff collected on my braces. I reason that cold water should contract the gums and thus prevent small junk from being worked up underneath them during the irrigating process. Then I will adjust the shower water temperature and bask my mouth with very warm -- but NOT hot water. I work EACH tooth along the gum line and the space between the teeth, doing both the buccal and lingual side of each tooth, especially the teeth furthest back. In the evenings I will use the plastic tips and then the cannula tip with very warm water, and following that with a brushing of baking soda and salt rather than diluted peroxide b/c of its free radicals. The date of this review is 2/13/11 so I have been using the Oral Breeze irrigator for approximately 1.5 months. I have to tell you that even if I didn't have braces, I'd still use it, especially alternating with cold and very warm water--- it's like taking a medicinal whirlpool in your mouth. It's become an excellent oral habit that I really look forward to continue using with at least the same frequency after my braces come off. Word of Caution before using either the plastic angled tips or the straight cannula tip = read and understand the directions BEFORE using. There is a lot of pressure with the plastic angled tips, so you don't want to damage your gums by 'jack-hammering' them with water, cold or warm. Let common sense prevail. The cannula tip as I previously mentioned is not angled. I believe it should be angled but I would be willing to listen to reasonings of why it is not angled. I didn't think I would enjoy this tip and its taken awhile to become adjusted to it-- and I discovered the reason why-- patience. This was designed to be a low fow design so we would not rip up our gum lines. It's an effective and gentle way of removing tiny crud just below the gums that I can't see but if I am concentrating on what I am doing, I can feel it working. Unlike the other tips, this cannula tip must be placded GENTLY into the pocket between the gum and the tooth. I would suggest using an inexpensive mirror that will take being expose to a lot of water so you can work your way each tooh's gum line. You might experience as I have that without tip angulation, it becomes more inceasingly difficult to use the further your go back into your mouth. I can do mine without the mirror now I still remain very carefull not to prick my gums with it. If you are in a hurry to do or be somewhere, then in my opinion DO NOT use this tip until you have all the time necessary to perform your oral irrigation correctly. Just as I hope you don't share your tooth brush--ick-- don't share your tips, especiall the cannula tip. And -- keep the tips and especially the cannula tip away from children-- you don't need another disaster do you ? lol! I have to say that I have come to thoroughly enjoy this Oral Breeze product. And I sincerely hope you do too !~

I paid what!!??For what??
You must be joking...I just paid $27.00. For a syringe I could have purchased at a walgreens, a blunt tipped small guage needle, and two cheap plastic tips. Wow, what a cheap "kit" this turned out. To be. No instructions on use or when to change out or what to put in thd syringe....I'm really not impressed with the lack of value of my purchase. For what it's worth, mechanically everything seems to work fine...the only reason I give a star.

deep pocket irrigator kit
I purchased this Oral Breeze kit about three weeks ago because my dentist had said a deep pocket behind a molar was infected and surgery to clean it out would not solve the problem. After research online I invested in this product. Unlike another reviewer's experience, I received the item as pictured. I was initially frustrated because I could not reach the area with the tips provided. I found I could bend the tips without limiting their usefulness, and bent one at a 90 degree angle to reach the area. After a lot of difficulty finding the opening to the pocket, I bought a sharp pointed dental pick and now use this to locate the hole each time before applying the irrigator. The procedure works well and using the irrigator appears to be having a positive effect on the pocket. No pain in the area, the gum is no longer sensitive and the sensation of the irrigator in the pocket has changed. My subjective impression is that the pocket is not as large. This could be because the condition of the pocket tissue has changed and feels different, wishful thinking or because the pocket is actually smaller or shallower. Take your pick. (I'm voting for #1 or #3.)I will add that I have been using a number of products to brush or rinse with, and one or all of these may account for the now healthy gum around the opening to the pocket. This practice periodically includes putting a drop of OraMed extra strength on the gum directly behind the molar. The solution I use to rinse the pocket varies and ranges from salt water to salt water with goldenseal added from a capsule to ionic silver or"Ultimate Gum Solution" diluted with water- all choices based on researching gum disease and deep pocket therapy. To conclude, I have no affiliation with the manufacturer or retailer of the product or their employees. I had never heard of deep pocket irrigation before reading about it online recently, although I wish I had. This is only the second review I've EVER written and I would recommend this product without hesitation.

Swindled
Junky, cheap, and doesn't work. No way to get that big "needle" end between my gums and my tooth. Well, not without injuring my gums by forcing it it. And to add injury to insult, it looked like someone stepped on the packaging as the package has a large dent in it (prior to mailing it because the mailing package was fine). My guess is they sell rejects that whatever dental office sells these can't sell.

diameter of syringe requires too much force for the delicate operation of irrigating gum pockets
This item is clearly well-made and not a cheap knock-off. However the comparable item with the smaller diameter syringe and angled needle is superior in my experience for self-irrigating gum pockets. This large diameter syringe and requiring addtional force to operate, difficult in self-care, may be be more suitable for working on a second person. The angled tip attachement was not useful to me for the above reason tho is well-designed.
