To start, the other reviews have no helpful votes, and only reviewed this, or one other product making their five star reviews very suspicious.Regardless there's a lot wrong with this product.For starters, the product in the pictures varies by picture, you'll notice the labrador can't have this shock collar on because it looks nothing like it. This is done because the size is extremely small, likely too small for a dog that size.The two sized prongs frankly aren't very different in size.The strap on mine is different than the one in these pictures, it's cheapThe strap on mine wasn't attached and doesn't attach properly.In short this is bait and switch for a terribly product, and I will be reporting this seller.

It did exactly what we needed it to. My husband and I were both on the fence about using this, but we just needed to get his barking under control. Our dog Bruno is very intelligent. After being shocked (probably twice at most) he learned to keep it down. I like that the collar give a warning beep. Once he hears that beep, he knows that he needs to chill out.

So I bought this thing when it had only a few reviews. But the reviews were all good except for maybe one so I have it a chance. At first it worked well and made a big difference. But soon the dog became accustomed to the beeping and it often wouldn't shock her when she continued to bark. Which led me to tightening the collar up a few times. Then after having worn it for quite a while, I noticed that her skin was raw and hair was missing from underneath the collar. I added a picture of the area but I didn't think to get a picture of it until she'd had 5-6 days to heal so it doesn't look quite as bad in the pic as it did.So I'm still looking for a solution to curb my dog's excessive barking. I'm looking at other collars similar to this one and I see info that warns not to leave the collar on for more than 6 hours at a time and not while the dog is sleeping to prevent pressure necrosis(or something like that). Sure wish I had gotten that info when I bought this thing.

The unit stopped working after six weeks of use - two weeks after the 30-day return window. I had hoped that replacing the battery would solve the problem. It didn't. Disappointing.UPDATE: OhioTec's customer service contacted me the day after I posted the original review, apologized, and offered a full refund.

I purchased this for my Puggle, who barks every time a person or another dogs walks by our door. It is a convenient fit, and it worked for a few weeks. Then, the beeping started going non-stop...in other words, I could not turn the sound off. I took the collar off and the battery out. Put it back together and the same thing happened. Waited about a month, and put it back together again. Same thing happened. This was a waste of money. I did not save my box, but I have all the parts. I'll be writing to the seller to see if they will replace or refund. I'll update this review.

It works as explained. He gets one yelp and that is it.

Unfortunately this had the exact opposite result than we expected. Apparently the sound and sting scared my dog and made him bark until it stopped zapping him. Now he hears the noise when he barks loud (from across the room, because he isn't wearing the collar) and he barks even louder as if to tell the collar to "be quiet"...or maybe it's "I hate you"

Works great and our dog has stopped barking when we let her out in the early am or late pm!

I'm not one to do 5 stars, but this got my wife's Shih Tzu to shut up. Right away I thought it was shocking it, the collar gives off a warning tone. After several tones, the collar does eventually give a jolt and the dog did a flip. Needless to say, she is not a yapper anymore.
