Woodcock-Johnson IV: Reports, Recommendations, and Strategies

This book and accompanying resources are an excellent update for the WJ-IV and are in the same vein as the edition for the WJ-III. However, the digital resource is simply not as functional as the one that came with the edition for the WJ-III. Obtaining the file from the Wiley website was no problem. You download the file in ZIP format and are given four Word files containing additional info on the instruments, forms and graphs, sample reports, and recommendations. Unlike the WJ-III edition that had these files on a CD, these new files do not contain hyperlinks to jump to desired areas within these huge Word documents. This is my only gripe. Without these hyperlinks, functionality and ease of use is severely limited. PLEASE include them when the WJ-V drops (whenever that will be)!

This book was highly recommended by my instructor for the sole purpose of writing evaluations that include strategies for teachers and wording ideas for diagnosticians.

The book itself is full of helpful information for understanding the WJ-IV and intervention planning but the description is VERY misleading. There is NO CD included, you get a card with a website and an access code to the resources. The problem is when you get to the website , there is no way to input the access code. I called Wiley.com and no one had a clue why that is so. I had to leave my name and number, and I was told they would contact me when they figure out how those who purchased the book can access the resources. Great book but thought it was VERY unprofessional to release a book with a vital component totally unfinished.

As a school psychologist found it helpful. I was also grateful that the recommendations could be printed out. I was able to share them with my resource teachers.

Extremely useful book, but the CD is not included. The access code on an included card would be enough, but the website doesn't appear ready to accept the codes yet. I am hopeful that Wiley will fix this soon!

I had borrowed a copy of this book from a colleague and felt that the information in it was useful for report writing, so I decided to purchase one myself. I am, however, a little disappointed that my brand new copy arrived with bends in the binding. It’s too bad it didn’t have better padding in the package to protect it.
