Impressive to a Business Major and Super Helpful!
I'm only on page 136 but I'm blown away by how much information this author has covered- in such detail- yet totally easy to understand. I am a finance major and thought this book would be a little redundant but i'm now thinking, "Here is everything that I wish I learned in Business School about my personal finances!" Incredible book and I would Highly recommend it.Also, Really appreciate the author's work/life or savings/life balance ideology. He has a very balanced view of being wise but not letting money take over your life. I appreciate him for that!

A must have!
Informative and entertaining! Contains so much practical and pertinent information that everyone needs to know, written so that everyone can understand! I read this book several years ago, and recently purchased an updated version for each of my adult sons, plus and After50 edition for myself. Read it cover to cover, or use it for reference when a financial question arises. Absolutely the best personal finance reference I've read, and there have been several. Eric Tyson does a wonderful job bringing it down to a practical level - information you can really use, from buying a house to understanding insurance to investing for retirement, and more. Now I understand!

and some was actual good information. I'm on the fence if I'd buy ...
I found this to be semi-helpful for a newbie budgeter. Some of it is total common sense, and some was actual good information. I'm on the fence if I'd buy again if I had the chance. This is more of a check out from the library, read, take notes, and return book.

Good, Solid, Practical Data
I put this on my credit card and gould have it paid off within the year! (Just kidding!)This book was recommended to me by a friend during a recent discussion on finances. I got a bit of a later start preparing for retirement than I would love liked. Despite the title, this book doesn't make me feel like an idiot about that and hits the ground running with ways to improve my current finances, as well as incest for the future. I haven't read the whole book yet; but what I have read so far has been solid, practical information.

Great advice
Book goes into detail about personal finances while still being easy to understand and follow. A great tool for anyone wanting to better manage their finances and learn about things like debt, retirement funds, investing, saving, etc.

Didn't know how much I didn't know
Dare I say... life changer? I'm an educated man but did not study business. And, as the authors point out, personal finance is not taught in most standard schools. Therefor this book contains a lot of must-know things that most people, I assume, just never had an opportunity to learn. I'm a young guy still so luckily it wasn't too late before I stumbled upon this book, and now I feel like making all my friends and family read it, too.

Loads of fluff.
This book could have easily been much shorter if all of the excessive amounts of fluff was taken out. And it feels like almost every sentence has a reference to a past or future chapter, so it makes it sort of annoying to try to read through the book when maybe 20 pages of it is nothing but “look ahead at chapter X for this or refer back to chapter X for that”. It’s annoying when you just want to read through and there’s nothing but repeated info and/or references to other sections.Probably could’ve been about 100-150 pages shorter and it would’ve been a lot better. Some decent info, and a lot of common sense.
