I got these for my son for Christmas and he was thrilled! He was wanting some Perler beads but I wasn't too excited by the prospect of him using the iron. He is an ADHD kid and a student of the "DIY University", so I was more than a little concerned by what could happen when I wasn't looking.. Simbrix is so great because you don't need to mess around with the iron and you can take them apart to make something new, kind of like legos! My son has played with these so much and wants more; I've already had to buy some for his younger brother as well. My biggest complaint with these are that you can't make any of the creations that are included in the brochure (Captain America, Poke ball, Bart Simpson, Minion, etc) because there are not enough Simbrix in the colors that you need--I got halfway through the Captain America (it was the first thing to be made) and ran out of royal blue Simbrix. I had to use light blue which was a BIG disappointment. I have boys who are interested in making the examples or "boy" designs, not free-range things which are "boring."These were purchased for my 8 year old who never got a chance to do Perler beads because I would never get around to ironing them. He wasn't too impressed with the Simbrix, but his brother who's 12, really liked them and has asked for another kit. Most likely because he really liked Perler beads when he was younger. Simbrix are much better due to no ironing, no beads flying off the peg board, and being able to reuse. My only suggestion would be not to include the designs you can make without telling people that there aren't enough Simbrix beads. It's quite frustrating to get halfway through the project to have to change it.

I was originally looking for a Perler bead set for my son's birthday when I came across Simbrix. I was intrigued - Peeler beads can be a giant hassle and it seemed like Simbrix had solved a lot of those problems. My son was excited when I explained what they were and how they worked. He played with them before any other present and spent hours creating pictures with them. I love that we don't have to mess with the board and iron, and I love that creations can be taken apart and built into something new. My son loved how much easier they are than fuse beads. He loves that he can make any picture he wants and easily fix thinks if he makes a mistake.

Simbrix is fantastic ! It is incredibly easy to use for little fingers, without the issue of knocking them over (sometimes when having completed the design) and no ironing is required. Within 30 minutes, my daughter and her friends had made two photo frames and interred their photos inside. A very simple but very clever idea to use interlocking pieces - so they can be used again too ! I would recommend them wholeheartedly. In fact I have already recommended them to many friends !!

My 9 year old Daughter and i were looking for something similar to the water to glue type bead things she had already had fun with. We saw the Simbrix kit on Amazon and thought they might be even better since she could use them over and over. They work well and we've all had fun making our own little creations. Only drawback is that my Daughter sometimes likes her creations so much that it saddens her to have to take it apart to make another. Guess we need to buy more!

A larger kit would have been nice; my daughter says that there is not enough of any color for her to make what she wants. I had planned to buy the larger kit, but it was not available at the time. She was also disappointed that she did not receive the glow-in-the-dark kit; again, not yet available in the U.S.

My son got these as a Christmas gift. They are really fun for adults and kids! I would recommend for an older child, b/c the pieces are so small my 6 year old has had a little trouble manipulating them.

Simbrix is the best thing.I loved d ease and the non-use of water and iron in it.I made all my favourite designs and they stayed together pretty good.overall, a very nice product.
