Henry Has Heart Surgery

This book is very helpful in preparing your child for an upcoming procedure, specifically heart surgery, both visually and physically accurately describing what will occur leading up to and after. The pictures do a great job in depicting what the child can expect to experience allowing for open question and answer with your child. Highly recommend this book in facilitating conversation with child and siblings of those with planned heart surgery.

This is such a great resource that is informative and empowering for any kids with medical procedures.We purchased this to explain to our almost 4 year old what a family member her age is going through. She loved the book and was able to ask questions with understanding.Well written with great illustrations! We have already purchased another book to give as a gift. My child’s friend will soon be having heart surgery. We saw this book and I knew that this would be ideal for me to teach my son about what his friend will be going through. My son had great questions and now has an inside glimpse of what his friend will be experiencing with this surgery. I personally love that the character is portrayed as a superhero, because as my family sees it, that is exactly who Henry is!

This book is not only informative, but it is an empowering tool for kids who have had or will have heart surgery. I think that this book is great for both kids who do and don’t have surgery or congenital heart defects as it definitely brought awareness to my 3 and 5 year old kiddos. Highly recommend this book!

Great book for the family to read, my kids loved it. My son has went through some minor surgeries as well and reminded him of the situations. It’s a great book for families that may be headed for similar situations, to comfort and let the family Member know (you’re not the only one)...Great pictures and read - highly recommend it!

My kids have a friend with an upcoming surgery and really enjoyed reading this book to learn more about his surgery. This book has a great story, colorful illustrations and explains things in a way that kids can understand. This book would also be good for kids that want to be doctors and are interested in learning more about medical things. I highly recommend this book.
