Harley-Davidson FXD Evolution Motorcycle (1991-1998) Clymer Repair Manual

Clymer manuals are much better than Haynes manuals, despite the fact that they are also published by Haynes. My Clymer only covers the 7 years of my model Harley, so I don’t have to wade through information that has nothing to do with my bike. The corresponding Haynes manual covers 29 years, so most of the information is not relevant to me. I do have both, which worked out well, as the Clymer manual does omit one thing: how to remove the seat (which is necessary to remove the battery). You’d think that would be a simple thing to figure out, but my seat has a band in the middle holding it down, and I was confused until the Hayne manual told me how to remove that (not a simple process). The Clymer manual is very thorough (despite the seat thing) and is twice the thickness of the Haynes manual.

It has some good basic information but in comparison, the original 96 Harley manual has richer information and much brighter illustrations.Not bad for the money I guess, but mostly used as a back up manual - not the primary source.

This book is FANTASTIC!! Would highly recommend!!

d"ja si il y avait une version traduite ca serait géniale.C'est un ouvrage plutôt pas mal mais dans mon cas , la moto n'étant plus vraiment d'origine, il y a pas mal de parties qui ne serviront pas comme concernant les étriers de freins, le carburateur, le réservoir, le guidon, l'éclairage ...pour la partie moteur et boite et primaire c'est assez bien fait.en revanche il manque des mesure comme sur la partie cadre qui n'est pas détaillé. je cherche l'écartement entre les sabres et cela n'est pas indiqué.je pense que ce manuel est juste pour l'entretien, et qu'il existe une version plus complète pour l'atelier. mais je ne la trouve pas.D'autre part pour le circuit électrique: alors oui c'est en couleurs et il est présent. mais c'est quand même assez petit.j'aurais aimé qu'il soit possible en 2019 d'avoir ce type de diagramme a télécharger pour pouvoir zoomer dessus, ou l'imprimer en plus grand.Quoi qu'il en soit, c'est un manuel à avoir sous le coude pour éviter de se prendre la tête :-)

Up until I bought this bike, I had never owned a HD, (not for wanting though ;)).I was a little stumped when I first got the bike so decided to get this workshop manual, which has been a godsend.As far as mechanics and me go, I would say that I'm fairly proficient in doing the basic stuff that you would do in a service and with this book a bit further....just how far I don't know yet.Its easy to read with clear pictures and always describes which tool you need and what job its going to do.The only problem with these type of binders though, is that they never stay open on the page you need, so you do need a couple of clean weights to hold the pages open.I would recommend this book to novices and experienced mechanics alike.5*
