3/5 Stars I didn't like this one as much as I liked The Mortal ...
Clockwork Angel: 3/5 StarsI didn't like this one as much as I liked The Mortal Instruments. Clare did a wonderful job at it, but I just didn't feel the attachment to these characters that I felt with Clary and Jace and that whole group. My interest picked up more at the end of the book when Tessa is trying to figure out information about her parents and what she is. I was also surprised to find out about her brothers involvement in everything. And, if Will was a real person, I would have slapped him when he told Tessa that she was pretty much a whore for him. I'm sure he's doing it to distance himself from her so he doesn't get attached, because I've read The Bane Chronicles and Shadowhunter Academy, so I know things, but still, that was just uncalled for and I don't like him too much right now.I will be moving onto the next book, but I'm uncertain about the series.Clockwork Prince: 4/5 StarsSo I liked this one more than the first one, but still not as much as The Mortal Instruments. I feel like there was better character development in this one, and so I felt more when something good or bad happened. But I am anxious to finish the series. I think I'm ready to leave the Shadowhunter world for a little bit.Clockwork Princess: 4/5 StarsOkay, so this one only gets 4 stars because the last quarter of the book really made up for first 3/4 of the book. There were parts of the book where I strongly considered stopping, but since I was on the last book of the series, I didn't want to give up.I felt like so much of the book (and the series) was about Tessa trying to figure out who she loved. Back and forth, back and forth. Do I love Will? Do I love Jem? I said yes to Jem, so I must not love Will. I think it was Johnny Depp who said "If you love two people, choose the second, because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn't have fallen for the second one." Or it was something like that. And I felt like the entire book, that's what I was yelling at Tessa. And really, I should have been stressing out about what was going to happen. But this series read more like harlequin romance novels, or what I'm assuming those are like because I've never read one. But, I do have to say, I love Charlotte. I think the world needs more characters like Charlotte. And Henry. In a time when women had little say in anything, Charlotte is running an institute, being a boss, and telling people what's what. Yes, there were times where she wanted to give up, but everyone does. But she is what I think people should be reading about. She shows everyone that women can be in charge just as much as a man and that just because she's "in a delicate state" as was so kindly put, doesn't mean that she can't think right. Charlotte is one of the true heroes of the story. And wonderful Henry stands by her in every decision she makes and doesn't let people put her down. They are the ideal couple. So even though I knew that Jem became Brother Zachariah, it still made me extremely happy that he showed up with the other Brothers to fight. Seeing him there was the best. Because even though he was technically no longer a fighter, these were people he cared about and he wasn't going to let a technicality stop him from defending them.I also liked the end where Tessa is waiting for him on the bridge and finds out that he isn't a Silent Brother anymore, he is her Jem again. And honestly, I think it's for the best that they didn't get married all those years ago. I really do think that Tessa loved Will more and that they were better for each other. But now Tessa has gone all of these years without Will by her side, she's had to live a life by herself, and now I think she can be the person that Jem deserves.

So glad I decided to go through with it
I couldn’t resist finally buying the re-design because of the sale, and I’m not disappointed. It shipped super fast and with no shipping damages. The set is absolutely beautiful, and this is my favorite trilogy so I’m thrilled that I got the set I anticipated. There were a few tiny aesthetic problems like the spine on my Clockwork Prince isn’t completely straight/centered and somehow Clockwork Princess got a dent in the front even though there was no damage to the box. I took a star off for those but other than that it’s perfect and I do not regret buying a set of books I already have solely for the look. Can’t wait to sit down for a re-read.

A Must-Read
Another series by Cassandra Clare. The final book in The Infernal Devices came out on the 19th. It was called Clockwork Princess. I will do a review for it alone later. This series contains adult content. This series is a prequel to The Mortal Instruments series also by Cassandra Clare.Oh my, this series is amazing! It has made me laugh, cry, scream, and everything in between. It's SO good! The story is very good. And I really enjoyed reading it. The characters are well-developed. The plot is phenomenal. And the book is the perfect mix of hilarious, action, romance, and heartbreaking. Especially the last book, Clockwork Princess. Warning, these books will make you cry. I know they made me sob. I was so sad that it ended, but it was very bittersweet. The books take place in Victorian era London, which makes it all the more enjoyable. The backdrop is different from that of my usual books, which is cool. The main character is Tessa Grey. Tessa is smart, funny, and loves to read. As a book-a-holic, I can totally appreciate that. She's strong in a special way. And although she doesn't know it at first, she's very special. In the first book, Clockwork Angel, she comes to London from America. Her older brother Nathaniel came to London in search of work and just sent her a letter saying he had found it and she could join him. But when she arrives, she's kidnapped by two women known as the Dark Sisters. She is told she has powers and is trained (AKA tortured) into learning how to use them. Then, along comes a shadowhunter (a race that is descended from the angel Raziel and hunts demons). His name is Will Herondale and he rescues Tessa from the Dark Sisters. Will is handsome, funny, and hates ducks (you find out why in the book). He is a true hero, even though he doesn't realize it. He may not be a knight in shining armor, but he is the one you want to show up, for he can crush the bad guys to smithereens. His best friend is Jem Carstairs. Jem is slowly dying from demon poison and has been for years. Jem and Will fight together and love each-other as brothers. Will brings Tessa back to the London Institute (a place where shadowhunters live), where she meets Jem, along with Charlotte, who runs the Institute, Charlotte's husband Henry, Jessamine, and the maid Sophie. She quickly becomes fast friends with all of them. The series has an amazing plot with the perfect ending. I didn't like the ending (because it made me sob), but that's the sign of a good book and was what the story needed. Clare does a fabulous job weaving her story into a web with so many twists and tangles, everything seems to be connected. And there are no coincidences. Everything happens for a reason, some of which will not be revealed until the next book in The Mortal Instruments series (the one this is a prequel for) comes out.

The Infernal Devices is OK but The Mortal Instruments is better
I really appreciated the setting being in London and the whole idea of the shadow world being back in time from TMI. Magnus Bane remains my favourite character but I just didn't connect well enough with this trilogy. The story progression was a bit slow for me at times but I feel like if it wasn’t then a lot of connection to the characters and their relationships would have been lost. The twists surrounding Tessa’s conception and her family I really liked! Even though I found her insufferable at times I like that she was something unique, something we had never seen before. It makes it seem like the limits of this world are just endless!I didn’t feel any real strong emotions towards the plot or the story though. I didn’t feel sad anyone died, I wasn’t really shocked by how Clockwork Princess ended. For me my rating for this book more comes from the emphasis on bonds and relationships and the meaning behind those in this book. It really challenged my traditionalist mindset towards loving one person at a time.I have to say that as a whole I did enjoy this trilogy but I think I enjoyed The Mortal Instruments more.

Mortal instruments must have
I love the world that Cassandra Clare has created. These books do not disappoint.Jace and Clary introduced me to shadow hunters and magic, loss and love. Tess and Will cemented it.If you love an adventure and amazing stories that leave you questioning where the story will lead these are the stories you need.

Infernal devices... to read or not to read
I bought this when it was £10.99 and I Thought that’s a decent price for a box set.It arrived quicker than it said it would which is always a pleasant surprise. My only issue is that the really shiny covers are easily damaged when they rub against things inside my bag so that the edges are ruined and the spine doesn’t look half as good anymore. I also prefer a matte finish but ah well.I detest this series. It’s so hard to read. The plot is no where to be found and the characters are dull. Except jessamine but she’s Hardly featured in clockwork angel and I don’t know if I can bring myself to read clockwork prince. We shall see. Lots of people love the series of course which Is fine I’m a big fan of the mortal instruments series so I get it. Even though I don’t enjoy the infernal devices I might read the last hours book to see if it’s any good.

Must-read prequel to The Mortal Instruments
Although this is not as good as The Mortal Instruments, it's still a wonderful story that focuses on Jace Herondale's ancestor, the warlock Tessa Gray and Jem, the Silent Brother returned to "regular ShadowHunter" state in the Mortal Instruments. The most impressive storyline is the parabatai one rather than the love triangle. The book set arrived promptly and in excellent condition.

Good condition
Arrived on time. Excellent condition. Not placed in 'safe' area. If it had rained the items would have been ruined.
