It struggles to blend ice. It often freezes to a complete stop while the motor is loudly struggling. A very strong electrical smell fills the room when we try to use it. This blender cost me $600, and it worked 4 times.Save yourself money. Buy the Ninja for much less; the Ninja blends ice without the blender stalling.

Three things you can count on taxes, death, and your Vitamix

Vitamix 750 Pro. I bought mine second hand with time remaining on warranty. No regrets. It is a step up from the 7500 with the nicer case and the electronic timer but it is essentially the same full size full power blender. As an experienced Viamix user there are three things I look for. First is the remaining years on the warranty. Vitamix has been great picking my machines up at no cost replacing any worn parts and returning it quickly at no charge. No one stands behind their product better. No advantage in buying new over factory recertified or used as long as you have warranty years.Secondly I want a full size machine not the look-alike lightweight counter-dancing Explorian sold by Costco and other retailers which requires hearing protection to use. I want the metal chassis and the metal frame 2.2 hp motor with radial fan cooling.Thirdly I ensure that I get the correct container for my needs. The low 64 oz is perfect for green juice and most needs. It is dishwasher safe and well constructed of thick Triton. Yes there are tricks to use this container effectively but it does liquify completely with no flecks of kale left behind. The 64 oz low is my go-to for juicing all of my produce before it spoils. Frozen juice cubes are great for smoothie sauces and soup.User-error accounts for the bad reviews. Watch them fail to go directly to full speed or fail to use the tamper which is essential to use especially whenever you do not ensure that blades are covered with liquid. Failure to allow the motor to come to a complete stop before lifting the container off causes spline drive wear. This drive part is still covered under the warranty but it is also easily replaced by any consumer. All the new containers are self cleaning and are dishwasher safe. Running on low speed leads to thermal safety shutdown because the fan is not turning fast enough. Operating the motor on high for one minute with no container is a quicl way to cool down the motor when the workload is high.Blending is an art. One gets better with practice and can easily become a pro by using the tips and videos Vitamix provides. Pay careful attention to the order in which ingredients are added.
