I have used these filters for years, since 2014 I believe. The device itself has run without issue to this day. The filters are easy to use and install. The device itself is easy to maintain and clean. Would recommend.

I love this product. But not being able to purchase 16 charcoal pre-filters in one pack like they used to do? CRAZY. One pre-filter lasts only ONE month in my multi-pet home, ONE MONTH. The actual hepa filter lasts us a YEAR. That's 12 pre-filters needed for just one unit. BRING BACK THE 16 in a pack PLEASE!!

I have the Winix WAC9500. This filter replaces the original HEPA filter and comes with 4 carbon filters.To be clear, this filter is slightly bigger than the original filter. It will fit, but you have to put it in differently. This is the only way it will work.Directions: (assuming you are replacing the original filter)1)Take the filter system that is in the unit out. Make special note on how the grey holder fits into the unit. We will be putting in the filter holder *backward* from the original.2) Throw away the used HEPPA3) Wash the two washable filters and let them dry4) Put away the other three black carbon filters in the included zip lock bag.5) Put the new HEPPA in first, The air flow is marked on the filter. This filer will fit perfectly into the unit.6) From here, there are a number of ways to make it work, but I put the filter holder in backwards and put the carbon and pre-filter in the holder (just reversing it so the pre-filer is first, then the carbon filter.7) The outer shell *will* fit over the holder you put in backwards you just have to work at it a little.7) Set your calender to remind you every 3 months to replace the carbon and wash the pre-filter.8) When your on your last filter, don't forget to reorderHope this helps! You save a bit of $ by buying this filter. To me, the savings was worth the effort it took. If you are looking for a plug -n- pay filter, you might want to spend the extra $ and buy the Winix filter.

Yes, it fits the WAC9500. Here is how you do it:1. Remove the old filter plastic cartridge and toss it. All of it. All 3 filters and all the plastic casings2. You will install the new filter WITHOUT the plastic casings the original filter came with. Lay the machine flat on its back.3. Insert the charcoal filters, until they are snug inside the machine.4. Insert the white filter (arrow pointing towards the inside the machine, over the charcoal filters).5. (OPTIONAL) If you want 100% of the air to go through the filters, then place some 1/2 scotch tape around the edges of the new filter and secure the tape against the machine.All 5 steps took me about 3 minutes.The gap between the filter and the machine is very small. Even if you don't use tape to seal the gap, you will still have about 98% filtration. Since the air recirculates through the machine over and over, there is really no decrease in the quality of the air. Want 100%? Use the tape. The new filter IS a bit bigger than the original. That is to make up for the fact that you will not use the plastic case the original has.The only negative is that this filter does not come with instructions. "How to install this filter for Dummies" should be called.

WAC9500! Ok! There are a lot of conflicting reports of as to whether this will fit the winix wac9500. Let me put everyone's questions to rest. The product description to get this installed is a little vague. What it's asking you to do is to basically discard your cartridge completely. It's not needed, you don't have to jam the HEPA filter inside the cartridge because it will NOT fit. You have to remove the cartridge place the HEPA filter loose inside the device and place the carbon filter in front of it. I decided to do even though I'm giving up the screens to save some money. If it doesn't work out then you can buy the cartridge with the HEPA filter the pre-screen and the carbon screen for about $118. I've yet to speak with winix but I do believe they offer just a helper filter replacement for about 45 bucks. I'm holding on to the cartridge and asking them when they're open. Right now my room smells like a brand new car. I plan to use it for a year and just discard the carbon filter which is actually easier to do than cleaning the screens.
