Q: How do i power the unit in usa.

I went to an electronics store and bought a new cord and plug in for it. Just take the instructions with you so you get the right amps and such.

Q: What does the top unit you pour water through do and does it have to be replaced after a certain amount of usage?

Hello Colin, the top white unit is just a bottle cap and doesn't need to be replaced. There is a mineral cap on the bottom part (where the button is), and that needs to be replaced every 3 months. Mineral cap is included in package (available for 1 year).Hope this helps!

Electric plug adapter needed.

I just got this today so I can't really give much of a review but the only thing that is a problem so far is that it comes with a Korean style electric plug. Buy an adapter. Other than that, it seems to work great and as long as the factory charge holds out.
