EDIT: Shortly after I left this review, a friendly rep from the company reached out to contact me and see if they could make things better by offering to let me try out an updated version of this product, which I was happy to accept, given my phone's unusually large dimensions.The updated version of the stand is PERFECT for my thick case in combo with large heavy phone, PLUS it folds flat for travel!It does exactly what I wanted--hold my phone up vertically while charging. Very sturdy and same nice finish as previous model. I love the fact that it's foldable, making it highly adjustable for many viewing or recording angles (while holding my phone up!)More about the original product listed here: I have had an opportunity to test it with a smaller 4.7 inch device, which fits much better on the stand without toppling backward easily. Thanks again for ensuring your customer's satisfaction!---ORIGINAL REVIEW below---This is a nice idea in concept, but I thought the movable part would be a bit bigger, as in a taller/longer and deeper/wider holder plate. The stand height is fine.I'm sure it would work better for a smaller phone, but my iPhone 6s Plus is a little too long to use by itself at many angles. It simply falls backward, off the stand.It also doesn't fit my battery case, which means I have to pop that on and off every time, or just use my phone sideways, which defeats the purpose of buying a stand like this. I already had an ANKER stand that can hold my phone horizontally, but I wanted a vertical stand I can use while charging. I can only do that if I keep it propped at just the right angle with my case off. Ideally, the holster could be a bit bigger and made to accommodate bigger phones while still being able to access all their ports, like headphone jack and charger at the same time.Otherwise, I like the fact that it has the pass-through hole for cables, the design is sturdy and the hinge is strong enough to hold up my enormous phone with a heavy battery case attached. The finish is great, too.

I purchased this stand for work because I needed to find an easier way to use mobile and tablet devices so that I can view and interact with them without having to slump over while the device is flat on the desk or hold it for long periods of time.The quality and design of the stand is very simple, sturdy, and well-built. It’s all metal built from aluminum alloy so the metal is smooth with a nice black finish. There are 2 pads on the cradle of the stand where the phone rests so the bottom of the phone doesn’t get scratched, and 4 pads on the bottom of the stand so it doesn’t move while using or slip off the desk. You can also adjust the stand to different angles, and the stand can pivot up to a 270 degree angle so it is very flexible to use. There are also 2 hole cutouts on the back of the stand for any cables that need to pass through which makes it easy and convenient to charge the device while on the stand. The cradle is also case friendly so the phone can have a case on and it will still sit well on the stand. The stand itself is also relatively small so it doesn’t take up so much space on the desk.One minor use that can be improved is when the phone is sitting vertically on the stand, if you tap the phone too hard the stand might tip over; however, I usually don’t tap so hard on the phone and I also sometimes support the back of the phone with my fingers while I use my thumb so it’s easier to type.Overall, this stand is built very well and highly effective for supporting mobile and tablet devices. Especially for the price, this is a great catch for its quality.

Not too great. Design means that it's likely to tip over backwards, something you don't want to subject your phone to. It's a little bit crooked, something I've tried to correct without success. Needs a non-skid, non-scratching base, which I had to provide with masking tape. Has too little pads to help avoid scratching your phone screen. The glue is inadequate, and they will begin by sliding off and ultimately not stick at all. I tried re-glueing them without success. This phone cradle is a disappointment.

This was kind of a one off purchase, not something that I would normally get but I needed one of these or rather something like this for work.To be honest, I wasn't even sure this was exactly what I was looking for when I ordered it. I just knew that I was tired of leaving my phone on my desk and having to look down every time I wanted to change songs that I was listening to while I code.So I settled on this as it was cheap and it looked like it was metal (no plastic please). It was indeed metal and having tried it out for a day and change it is indeed exactly what I was looking for. It holds the phone upright, stable, and when I tap on the phone to change songs it doesn't shift (also very important as I don't want random bumps causing it to drop the phone).Size wise, it actually was a little smaller than expected and this worried me at first, but that doesn't matter I realized as the phone centers on it just fine and stays in place. It will hold an iPhone 8 Plus with a case on it just fine. The only cases that might be an issue would be the ones with an extra thick battery pack on the back. Those cases won't fit in this as their back isn't uniformly flat.It has 4 small pads on the bottom to prevent it from slipping off the desk and they are actually stuck on well rather than just via cheap glue. Overall the manufacturing quality is really good - something that I really like as it means that this stand will last a long while.Luck of the draw purchase, worked out amazingly well! Photos include a box for size, since I took them with my phone and lack another camera to show it in use.
