It's an upgrade from analog
Bought a refurb set. Didn't sound too good with connecting the sound bar's Bluetooth to my LG TV, but it did pair easily. The audio was there, but the bass really wasn't at first. Had to really crank up the sound to really get some bass response. Switched to the HDMI ARC in/out from my TV and the sound amplified quite a bit. After that it was just a matter of tweaking and fine tuning the internal EQ, speaker placement and levels. I don't know if the subwoofer is self amplified, but at the levels I was running it, it didn't seem to clip. FYI, it's a ported enclosure. In general the system is both satisfying in terms of going loud and staying clear. I'm really happy with it, I only wish the subwoofer had its own crossover level.----------Update 2 weeks later:Although using the HDMI ARC sounds more amplified than the Bluetooth, the sound levels are just way-way off. The rear speakers are much too loud even at the lowest level setting, the sub is very sensitive, and the center channel is really hard to hear, especially with soft spoken voices and when there's dialogue during action scenes. I prefer not to use subtitles, but have had to turn them on more frequently now.Last option was optical, which reviewers already said no good to, but My TV can play both internal speaker + optical simultaneously. Going this route allows me to independently control the TV and the sound bar volumes. It took some back and forth tuning, but finally found that happy medium, but to watch the movies loud, the sound bar does need to be cranked up more than HDMI ARC, when using optical.

Actually quite good, and a steal for the price!
TL;DR A great little surround system, priced well. This is a pretty effective pseudo-wireless surround speaker system. I'm using it with a 65" screen, it seems well sized to that. The surround effects are audible - they add the right ambience. The sub at least lets me know there's bass there. No wireless sub in a surround system at this price will be able to follow every one of Jimi's notes precisely. But it does add distinguishable bass, at the same time it's not intrusive. Biggest thing is that the decoding when hooked up via HDMI to the TV ARC channel ... is fine. I had a "higher end" 3.1 soundbar for twice the price, and it always would do funny things with the sound decoding.

Very good value with a bit compromise
Please do not think that this will replace the traditional receiver/speaker set. This product is more so for people who doesn't want a flat sound from their TV but do not want to invest heavily and/or too lazy to hide the back speaker wiring. This is not 7.1 or 5.1 speaker set at all. Instead it is more like 2.1 traditional sound bar with back supporting speakers. It doesn't differentiate the back audio from the front from my testing but more so that it plays the left or the right audio from the back. I was very disappointed and was going to write a horrible review for this item, however, I reminded my self that I only paid $250.xx for this. Does the sound that this device offer worth $250.xx? And the answer is YES and then some. Woofer has a nice deep thump to it that easily handles explosions and the "Buwaaahs", bar has enough range to offer clear speech even in a loud action packed scenes, and the back "Non Surround" speakers somehow it does offer depth. So yeah, for me and for my needs it was a great purchase with a pinch of disappointment.

I had an issue at first, but they took care of it in a timely fashion
The directions for set up were straight forward. I had it set up on my T.V. within an hour, but I found out right away that the remote wouldn't adjust the volume. So I did the firmware download and applied it to the sound bar. Then the remote wouldn't work at all.I emailed them (Thousands of Electronics) and got a prompt reply that I would be getting a new remote. Less than a week later I got the remote and it wouldn't work either. An email later, Carly instructed me to perform the set up again.Everything works as it should and I'm a very happy customer! Thank you Carly at Thousands of Electronics!

Wi-Fi Killer
I purchased this as a factory refurbished. The sound quality coming from the soundbar was tinny and underwhelming. The instruction paper (not manual) that was included said that the wireless speakers were already paired. When I set everything up, they were not. The sub and the receiver just had a red light. I followed the instructions on the paper that was provided to get the rears linked. After numerous repeated attempts, I finally went online to seek help. It turns out the instruction sheet provided had the wrong information. Thanks to the interwebs, I was able to get the rears working.... that is when the problems started. As soon as the rears powered up, my internet connection immediately started failing. Why I cannot explain. But, the TV they were hooked to kept buffering and then informed me that I had a connection failure. The second I unplugged the power to the receiver and sub, my connection was restored and I was able to stream again. I watched for 10 minutes with no issues, then decided to try again. The second the receiver and sub connected, my internet started buffering and I lost connection again. I tried several different times, including moving my Wi-Fi access points around. Nothing helped. This was extremely disappointing from the incorrect instructions that were provided, to the tinny sound from the main speaker, the lack of bass in the sub, and the fact that they destroy your internet connection.I will be returning.

Good sound, easy setup
I had zero problems setting up the system. Not having to run wires to the rear speakers was a big plus, and one big reason I chose this system. I'm using it with a Samsung TV, and they play very nicely together. The soundbar automatically powers on and off with the TV, and I don't need a separate remote. Sound quality is consistently good. This is my first home surround system, and it can really enhance the experience, depending on what you're watching.
