Great So Far
I bought this dummy camera because we had a prowler over most of the summer. The guy made no attempt to get into the house or steal anything; it was mostly mischief, but he certainly caused some discomfort. It was unsettling to know that someone was prowling the property in the dark. I bought a real camera so we could identify the guy, but you might know that he spotted it, tried to pull it off its mounting, and tore the cover off. I ordered this dummy camera and made it known in the neighborhood that the camera had been "trashed" and was useless (OK, I lied), thinking he'd get word of it and come back. We placed the dummy where anyone entering the yard would easily spot it, aimed the real one in the direction of the dummy, and what do you suppose. One night the real camera got a picture of the guy's foot! There's been no sign of him since, and it's been several weeks now. I'm guessing that he saw the dummy and headed for the hills. If he does come back and the police catch him, I'll update this review; I doubt that he'll be back, though. I wish we'd gotten this thing right from the beginning. I should mention that this seller is one of the best I've come across. Before I even purchased the dummy camera, he sent me detailed information on how it works and went out of his way to answer my questions and concerns about it. Going by his attentiveness, you'd think I were about to invest in a several-thousand dollar purchase. Rather incredible.

Good for the Price
Works well. It looks so real I doubt anyone can tell it is not real, especially at night and from any distance at all. I do not know how long the battery will last, and this brings me to the only downside to this camera, which is that you have to remove it to replace the battery, unless you are a gymnast and you can do it while you are on the stepladder. I am too old and fragile for that. I suggest a "dovetail" type mount that would allow you to just lift the camera out of the dovetail to replace the battery. The blinking "red light" shines brightly enough to convince you that this is a real camera, and is active..............

Realistic appearance = works well
Quick install. Comes with three # 6, 1" screws, but for our purpose, needed longer. The three holes are two different sizes = (two # 6 - one # 10 to fit exact)Camera is all plastic but nice size (5" long 2 1/2" dia) with a tube that fits in a forth hole above the camerawhich gives an authentic appearance of being electrically wired.TIP = The hose is long enough to pull through & bend down an inch inside the back of housingbefore mounting, so if someone pulls on tube it won't pull out to reveal it's fake. The red LED will not light an area, but it is very visible at night as it flashesand can be clearly seen from across the street.Camera has three movable joints (each with Phillips screw) which allow it to be adjusted in any direction needed. It does rotate and locks in place but by hand adjustment only. When batteries are installed the red light blinks in 5 second intervalsuntil the 2 AAA batteries are dead. (not included)Batteries can last up to 3 months, depends on the battery quality. No on/off switch, but wouldn't know why you'd want one.To use = Install 2 batteries, push tube in hole, and screw to where ever = done!Includes a 1 3/4" long screwdriver but I found it to be too small to be usable. It's a plus that the nut to change batteries is encased so it can't fall out when accessing / changing.Ordered 4, and though I wouldn't use the inexpensive looking (& made) window / door CCTV sticker,at least the first box contained a sticker (had to be placed on outside of whatever. The other three boxes contained a 4" by 4" coated paper to tack / nail up. (not a sticker, cheap)CON = After installation, realized (one camera) the first joint of adjustment had plastic strippedwhen received, and wouldn't stay positioned. Had a #8, 3/4" screw which I replaced with #10.(Handy to have a stubby right angle screwdriver for this joint)For indoor / outdoor use.

This camera looks pretty real It is made of plastic
This camera looks pretty real It is made of plastic, but if placed in the right location, it looks more realistic. I gave it as a gift, and then another friend had me order her two on two different occasions as she liked the first one. I have purchased three altogether over time. I did use the "blinking light" feature, and the batteries have lasted for over six months now. I would recommend this camera. There are different ways to make the camera look more real. I put this up with a pre-drilled hole for hurricane shutters on one friend's home. I put the cord end into the hole to make it look more like it was going somewhere. You could also put a small amount of calking around the end of the cord and attach it to a wall etc.to make it look like it was going through the wall etc. and is hooked up to a recorder...

Great Looking Fake Cameras
These Fake security cameras do offer a lot of bang for the buck. My only concern is that my real cameras that look similar to these have infrared lights all the way around the lens. It's amazing how many people know what the real thing looks like. I am considering changing mine by installing enough red LEDs to encircle the lens. I would then power both with a single 6 volt "gel-cell" battery and install a properly sized solar panel to keep it charged. My estimate is an additional cost equivalent to what I paid for the cameras themselves. If I didn't already have the other cameras I would just use these as they are. Definitely worth the purchase price.

Looks so real!
I love this camera! It looks so real when installed. The camera itself is light weight but no one will be touching it. The details are spot on. Red flashing light is the best part that's how you know it's recording. Came with a tiny screwdriver. Camera takes two AAA batteries which I assume will last a long time l, I'll update with that. Fairly easy to install nothing super hard just make sure it's angled right. Also included was a window sticker which is yellow. I live in Florida so I'm curious to see how much sun it can take. I will be buying another camera for my front door right away.
