The best tumbler!!!
I’m absolutely in love with this tumbler! I’m a jewelry designer, so tumble polishing is a huge time saver. I love that there are variable speed settings. I read some other reviews where people stated that they didn’t like that the timer only went up to 60 minutes. But after several uses, I can attest that none of the items I create would need longer than that - it’s that efficient.Today I had the idea to tumble polish my husband’s and my Platinum wedding bands (see photo). The after photo was after an hour of tumbling. Amazing!

Overall Great Tumbler
I got this tumbler for polishing jewelry and hand stamped items. The only directions that come with it are pictures. It has a large barrel, but not quite long enough to fit long pieces over 5 inches. I bought two pounds of shot to put in it, but it could easily hold twice that and still have plenty of room to tumble items. I’ve never tumbled jewelry before so there was some question as to how long and what speed and whether to use the back/forth motion or to just have it going one direction. So far, I’ve tried the lowest speed for various lengths of time without noticeable results, and the second speed for various times with very noticeable results that I am happy with. The noise level is less than tumbling rocks. It sounds like maracas constantly being shaken, but it’s bearable for up to the hour that it tumbled at a time. It’s also easier to get into than the other tumbler I have, which may contribute to leaking, as others have complained about; but I make sure the lid/seal is settled in the hole properly, and it hasn’t leaked on me yet. The majority of my pieces are hand stamped aluminum, and tumbling those have had great results. I also work with copper and some brass. I have not tumbled any of those pieces yet, but I don’t foresee any problems; may need to tumble longer or at a higher speed. I do not solder or work with a torch, so I can’t speak to how it will polish very dirty or heavily tarnished metals. Overall, and so far, I think it’s a great tumbler.

No instructions
I used to have 2 Lorton tumblers but donated them to charity so I understand how tumblers work. I had difficulty closing the top which does not screw on.There are dials to regulate the speed and a timer and instructions for them but the lack of information about using the machine is a definite problem.

Works great and simple to use
I was a little skeptical, but am glad I got it. I wanted to switch from dry tumbling brass to wet tumbling. This holds about half the amount of brass as my vibratory tumbler, but it takes 1/3 as long to clean the brass, and does a much better job. I can fit 2.5 lbs of stainless pins, 20 cases for 300 win mag or 45 cases of 223 rem. It only takes between 1 hour and 2 hours of tumbling on low setting depending how cruddy the brass is.The cylinder is ABS plastic or similar, not glass, but it's very sturdy. Lid seals very easily, just make sure there's no tumbling media stuck around the gasket that could prevent it from sealing proper. It's pretty stupid-simple to use. I pulled it out of the box, loaded it up with brass and media, added a cup of distilled water and fired it up. I really like the timer feature. You can set it for up to an hour and it will automatically turn off. I've done a couple hundred brass in the last two days with great results.

MUST TURN IT ON EVERY HOUR
Had I known that I would have to turn it on every 60 minutes.... Yes you read that right... EVERY 60 MINUTES, I wouldn't have purchased it. Who remembers to turn a timer in a tumbler every hour!? The batches done in this will take months per cycle. It's very large which is nice and the machine is actually quiet!! But damn people... Every hour!?! Good grief!

Works great!
Much better than my rubber barrel tumblers, and can control time and speed.
