It works great with our recliner :)
I must have read a million reviews before I decided to buy this... I know what you're thinking - Will it be sturdy? Will it stay in place? We have a couple of reclining couches in our den, where we spend most of our time. The coffee table is out of reach when we're in a reclined position, and with the way our living room is, there's no real place to put side tables. My husband ends up putting his drink on the side of the couch (on my wood floor!) and we're always paranoid that we're going to trip and spill something.I researched couch tables, you know, those tall tray ones that have the base of it partially hidden under the couch. I had no idea if it would actually work with a recliner, since the height would change and there isn't much room under the couch. I also looked at a tray table that goes on the actual armrest, but I was scared that it would damage the leather somehow. Not to mention that we thought that things would slide off when we reline the couch. My indecision went on for a few months, and then the holidays came. I was so desperate for additional gift ideas for my husband that I went back to searching all kinds of things on amazon (so dangerous) - that's when I saw the Sofa Butler.I know, it's not the most attractive thing in the world, but we have dark brown couches, and it doesn't really stand out. Even if it did, the beauty of this, is that you can easily put it on or take it off because it has no attachments of any kind and just slides on. I am typing right now on my laptop, with the Sofa Butler by my left elbow. I actually keep my cell phone there (much easier to find) and right now, I also have a large lemonade from a fast-food place. I am comfortable and still have room on each side. Even when my husband is sitting on the other side, we both still have our own space. The Sofa Butler has two drink holders that are separated by one small square compartment. To the side, there is one deep pocket, for magazines, long remote controls, etc. It's basic, sturdy black plastic - not ornate in the least. We have had no problems with it at all - it does what it's supposed to do and what worried me the most with our recliners, that it would be moving around or even fall off. It stays in place - evening while we're reclining (our couch is motorized) if it moves, it's because we have physically pushed it some from moving around. Even then, it's not sliding around, so the movement is minimal and gradual.Save yourself the hassle of measuring to see if couch tables or trays fit; the Sofa Butler is simple, easy to put on/take off and comes at a very reasonable price. It exceeded our expectations!

Now We Have a Place for our Stuff!
This is a very handy device. I only gave it four stars because it doesn't stay put. I don't if they made the part that goes between the cushions longer if that would help- but aside from that we love this. We can have our drinks and not worry as much about them spilling. ***Note*** While getting up and down, this can shift or come out of the cushions; I would strongly suggest that you hold on to your drinks without lids while getting up or down.Pros: We now have a place to put the remote, phones, drinks, fingernail clippers, lotion, reading glasses and chapstick instead of the table next to the couch where things get bumped off or rolls off,Cons: It will move and shift- but for the price it was the best thing I could find

Very Handy!
This is one handy product. I was able to put my remotes, phone, and kindle or magazine in the allotted spots. I was able to put my drinks in the cup holders. While being stuck on the couch, while convalescing alone at home, this was a terrific partner. It made my life much easier so that I didn't have to reach for a folding table in front of me and get the item I needed at the time. It was easier for me to get off the couch without trying to pick the folding table up and placing it aside. The Sofa Butler is well balanced so when you get up it does not tip over with everything in it.

Will not work properly if your couch reclines
This will work great for a traditional couch. We found out quickly that if you have a reclining couch, this product will not work well. The soda spilled as soon as my husband reclined....ugh. We only use this if we are not reclining now.

Best! Great for split king adjustable beds!
I like this very much. Have used it a couple of days and I feel it is a good purchase. My wife and I have a split king adjustable bed, so the slider fits perfectly between the mattresses. I have the caddy side hanging over my mattress, so it won't interfere with the queen! No problem in bumping it. Holds.two beverages, magazine and all.of our remotes for TV, lights and fan! One thing: We have adjustable beds, so if you raise the matress with the caddy side, hang onto it, if you have beverages in it. Otherwise, it's perfect!

No more fighting for the end
What a great invention! My husband and I would fight for the seat next to the endtable so we would have a place for our phone/remote/drink, but now I don't mind sitting in the middle of the sofa because the Sofa Butler gives me a place for all of those items.

good luck cleaning it all up
Doesn't work really well between the seats of a leather sofa. When someone sits on the seat, the whole unit tilts - if you have coffee or some liquid in there, good luck cleaning it all up. It needs a longer vertical section to keep things stable.

So far, so good
I really like this product. The design works really well for my needs in keeping our beverages "safe" in our RV when we're driving down the road. One should know that the drink holders are LARGE. Of course this is good when you want/need it but a smaller/regular size cup has a little too much room. That being said, I'd rather have too much space than too little, so I think it will work for my family for a long time.
