unique and beautiful Buddha
While this Medicine Buddha appears to be blue and brass, he is really blue and silver. (finished--says he's made of copper)Having recently purchased several Buddha statues through Amazon, this is the only one I truly love. The others (in the $25 range from Summit) while useful and attractive in an office setting, i.e., I teach Asian Philosophy and students can identify the different Buddha emanations, none are worthy of sitting on an alter or are particularly inspiring. While they do make great "office Buddhas," none approximate this figurine. Additionally, The lotus bottom even opens up but stays connected to store prayers, mantras, etc. What a great idea rather than the standard separate heavy brass bottoms so cumbersome and easy to loose. I have been looking high and low for such a Buddha for years and this Medicine Buddha is really blue--not at all common in statues,(at least available in the US) The blue body Medicine Buddha is mostly depicted (available) in printed art work. If "Bejeweled Medicine Buddha" continues to be available and your inclined towards something more authentic not to mention stunning, "Bejeweled Medicine Buddha" is worth the higher price tag by far.
