I run a summer camp infirmary where we see an absolute ton of splinters, many from wood that comes out in tiny pieces when I am trying to remove it. This product has been wonderful to have on hand. The point is super, super sharp, making unroofing the splinter easy. My only complaint is that it could be a little stronger so it doesn't bend when trying to pull against real calloused skin, like that of the bottom of the foot. It is so sharp that a couple times it has bent and stabbed the surrounding tissue causing a drop of blood, which then gets in the way of seeing the splinter we are trying to remove. This is probably a petty complaint as, after searching for splinter removal options, I was thrilled to find this, but I did feel it was worth mentioning. However, I have bought these for three years now and we continue to use them with wonderful success. Well worth the investment to have on hand either as a parent or in a clinic setting.
