Exciting post apocalyptic tale
Lots of adventure, action and tension in this tale about a young woman named Alex and what happens to her in a world where she may be the only survivor left.As it turns out--she isn't--but the people in Haven's Rapture are anything but the kind of people you want to meet--except for a few of them.Alex, a friend she encounters along the way, and a lovable pup named Paddy, have no choice but to seek help from Elijah, the appointed prophet of Haven's Rapture, They soon discover they are virtually prisoners there; doomed to a terrible loss of freedom. There is also some romance in the book, which is just as delicious as the rest of this tale.I highly recommend it.

A truly great author can sweep you up without any thought
Amy has really built a world here.. A truly great author can sweep you up without any thought.. And put you down in a bed of what they want you to be in... A bed of nails or feathers.. This is a gritty and quite possibly the most realistic portent of what would happen. Thanks to 'Women and Words' blog she's said there's more to come... I cannot wait tt see what happens next.

Excellent
This was my first book from Amy Dunne and I am a big fan already. The story line grabbed me the start, I had a hard time putting the story down. Stupid job and need to sleep. The character development and the relationship between the characters was amazingly well done. The background story and the world Dunne creates is gripping. I highly recommend this story!

An incredible dystopian story
Amy built an incredible dystopian story which took me on a journey filled with the best and worst of human emotion and experience. Amy delivers to her readers what every writer should. It was a journey of pain and despair but not without hope and joy.Thank you, Amy, for sharing this beautifully told story with us. And congratulations on making the Lammy finalists.

Murphy is a good guy but not equipped to handle post-apocalyptic earth
This is Amy Dunne's newest book. It is post-apocalyptic story and it is written very well. The characters are different but all are in the same predicament. The world as they knew it has come to an end due to the Red Death. An illness that is lethal to anyone that has the misfortune to come down with it.Alexandra's (Alex) world has come crashing down. Her Mum is dead. Her Dad is dead. Her lover, Dianne, is dead. Her father teaches her survival techniques when he realizes he won't be around to protect her. He told her that a time would come when he would tell her to leave. Alex's father instructed her not to trust anyone!Unfortunately Alex learned the last lesson the hard way. From that disaster she acquires a dog, Paddy. Paddy saves her from the heartache of being alone day in and day out. When she is at death's door from an infection she meets Murphy. Murphy is a good guy but not equipped to handle post-apocalyptic earth. They become family and end up at a cult sanctuary. Life has gone from bad to 100 times worse. Women are essentially slaves and the cult leader is psychotic. Alex meets Evelyn who is the doctor for the cult. They become close but have to escape or they won't survive.Amy Dunne has really captured what a post-apocalyptic world would be like: hunger, distrust, depravity and more.I received this book from the publisher for review purposes. Loved this book! <3
This book is about two woman trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world. With men who are evil and believe they are doing gods will.I have to say the way the author portrayed this story was awesome! Because you know if something like this were to ever happen there would be those people that would act like this that would be just plan evil.Alex has lost everyone, her family and her partner who she loved so much. Now she is alone trying to survive by herself when she meets Murphy who quickly becomes her friend.Evelyn is forced to marry the leader a cruel man in the community she lives in with her son. These two meet and the moment they do there is a instant connection. They both must work together to survive this community. This book was filled with action, angst and sadness with what all the woman in this community must endure. I really liked this world the author created in this book and these characters. All together I really loved this book!I would recommend this book!I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.

Very interesting read!
All of my reviews of lesbian romance novels can be found at http://theromanticreaderblog.com/Want to know what it would be like to live in a post-apocalyptic world? Read Renegade by Amy Dunne and you will know it sounds down right horrifying. Nope, no zombies, even scarier an airborne disease that wipes out billions of people, and leaves the rest searching for ways to survive.Alex Clarke is 26 year old survivor of the Red Death (the scary airborne disease). She has lost her parents and her lover, now is alone in this underpopulated new world. Alex wonders around, looking for a new place to call home. This is when Alex’s life begins to get treacherous. The other main character is Evelyn Bennett, a medic that is raising a young orphan and living in a commune. While her environment is safe from attacks on the outside, it is definitely not safe from the inside. The commune is run by a drug addicted sexist sociopath. This book was an adventure that’s for sure. Amy Dunne did a great job of setting the scene and letting the story rip. It was one undertaking after the next for Alex, Evelyn and their friends. While I thought the overall story was very good, I thought the one area it lacked that would have made the book stellar was overall character development. I never felt like I knew much about any of the characters, including the two mains on more than just a superficial level.Overall an interesting read, and a good book if you want something a little bit different.
