Olympus Outdoor Aegis Carbon Fiber Folding Trekking Poles- Pair

When I received these poles I was very excited. They are super lightweight and look well made The cord down the middle was solid and well protected. However, when I put them together I was disappointed. There is way too much play between the sections and the poles are wobbly. I don't think I could recommend them for simple walking much less strenuous hiking.

The quality of poles are so so. There are so many scatch on the surface. And the length of the wire are not the same. I need to fine tune one pole in order to lock it.

First of all I couldn't believe how fast they arrived, they must have shipped within an hour of me placing the order. I was really impressed with how sharp they looked. The poles are very lightweight, they fold down quite compact and can easily be stored in a small hiking backpack. They didn't come with instructions for operating, but are very simple to figure out. You hold the handle and let the pole hang free, then simply extend the sliding piece from the hanle until it locks in place. The whole process literally takes less than five seconds. The poles are made of carbon fiber and are very light and durable. You can adjust the length of the poles for people of different heights, or for greater comfort on different grades. The molded foam handles and adjustable strap are very comfortable. The rubber tip works great on different terrain, and there is an ice bit under it if you're using it in snowy conditions. All in all I couldn't be more pleased with these poles, definitely a great value.

I ordered several trekking poles in the $50–90 range and these were pretty great—nice combination of affordability, light weight, and ease of use. The Z-fold style fits best in my small-ish daypack the extend-and-click design is really quick to assemble/disassemble (compared to telescoping models or those that require twisting each section to lock). My only complaint is that the button that locks them into place is on the small side and a little pinchy/sticky. I ended up keeping the Lumi Outdoors Ultralight Duralim poles over these because of that BUT if weight is a bigger concern to you, then you'd probably prefer these. Overall a good option!

After two knee and two hip replacements, my orthopedic surgeon convinced me to start walking and hiking with trekking poles. These Olympus poles fit the need quite nicely. They are very easy to assemble, lightweight and strong. . I can already tell they are helping with my recent hip surgery recovery. I highly recommend them

I'm very pleased with these poles! I pulled the trigger after seeing how much more bang for my buck I was going to get with these poles as compared to other big-name poles. When I got them, the very first thing I noticed was how much lighter they are than some other poles that I own that also claim to be carbon fiber.Features that I like:Super lightVery compact when folded (I attached a photo to show how the Olympus Outdoor pole compares with one of my other poles)The poles deploy quickly and height adjustments are much faster/easier than with my other poles. (By the way, I love the captive nut in the flip-lock thing - I've had that nut fall off on other poles I own.)I've already taken the poles snow-shoeing a few times and they've performed well. I also have plans to take these on a hike down the narrows in Zion National Park after the weather warms up, and after that I'll be headed up into the mountains, where these poles will also double as ridge poles for my tarp. Time to get outdoors!
