KorgmicroKEY 25 USB MIDI Keyboard

I like how this has "almost full-size" keys (they are 3/4 inches wide). I almost don't feel like it should be called the "MICROKey" - seems like more of a "mini" to me. But I get it. Overall, the footprint is, in fact, quite small. I have big hands and don't like the tiny keyboards and yet this one works well for me. I tried an Akai MPK Mini once and found that it was just too small. But back then I was PLAYING PIANO on it and now I'm more of INPUTTING NOTES into my DAW, so that might be what changed. I don't actually know the size of the Akai MPK Mini's keys. Not sure if they are actually smaller or not and I can't seem to find that information. These seem bigger, but I can't confirm that.Either way, the Korg is very small, but not too small. The keys are much shorter than full-size, but only a little narrower than full-size. And they are nearly silent, which I love. Not much of a click at all. Overall, feels pretty solid and high-quality for the price. I mean, it's plastic and it's small and it's light - sure. But it doesn't feel "cheap" for what it is.I'd prefer a pitch and a mod wheel instead of the joystick, but oh well. And it would be cool if there was a standard (5-pin) MIDI plug. But I'm mostly doing MIDI-over-USB into a DAW anyway, so this is fine, I guess, with just that. I might have played with some sound modules if it had a regular MIDI port, but this is fine. Seems very much designed for use with a DAW versus "playing" so that makes sense.Overall, if you want something small but are scared of the small keys, this might work for you. And I'd probably recommend it for "inputting notes" versus "playing piano" - for that, it's fantastic. Happy I have it.

This is our second Korg miniaturized piano. The first one that we got was a Korg tinyPiano, which was absolutely amazing, and perfect for introducing piano at age 3-5. This microKey 25, while simpler and lower-cost, is equally amazing as a travel piano for any-age child who's reached the level of two octaves.We connected the microKey 25 to each of an iPad and an iPhone using an Apple lightning-to-USB Camera Adapter cable. Then the Simply Piano app ran perfectly. (The only trick we had to play was turn off bluetooth for the iPad and iPhone; otherwise Simply Piano kept looking for MIDI over bluetooth instead of by USB cable.) The iPad and the iPhone each successfully delivered power to the battery-less microKey.The kids were able to practice Essentials 1-3 in Simply Piano while sitting on their hotel bed. The miniature keyboard was easy to stow in the luggage. My only (trivial) wish is that Korg would add a little compartment in the microKey's body to hold the USB cable. Overall, the device is fantastic!

As many other reviews have mentioned, this keyboard is small but works fairly well if you keep that in mind. I found that the joystick/knob works decently enough for pitch bending and using the modwheel but you have to be gentle for more subtle usage (as compared to a standard pitch bend/modwheel).The keyboard also came with various software like the Korg Collection, UVI Digital Synsations, some AAS Player instruments, and trials which is nice if you'd like to upgrade to the Korg Collection 3 at a discounted price.As a heads-up, the manual states to install the Korg USB driver from the website but I found that it made the keyboard undetectable in Windows 10, so I had to revert to using the default driver. Haven't had any issues yet and everything is working great.I mostly bought this as I wanted the Korg M1 LE software to take advantage of their upgrade sale but am not disappointed with my purchase.

I love this thing. I got the 25-key model for size, and it's compact but a good size where it counts. The key feel is nice, the velocity is responsive, and I don't feel like I'm going to break it when I use it. The newer model has Bluetooth capabilities but I didn't want that as the tech doesn't seem to be "there" yet. That being said, I have been able to plug-and-play this with my Linux Mint machine without much issue. It works excellent and I've made tons of great tracks with the hardware. Thanks Korg! You've made yourself a lifelong customer.

I know that’s obvious and part of the description, but just know, they are VERY small.

I bought my iPad Mini hoping that it would work with this keyboard. I heard so many forums stating that it does not work with the iPad mini due to little electrical current supplied by this model that it was really a blind bet. My surprise was seeing it work right away with Garage Band. I also bought the Lighting to USB Camera Adapter for the iPad mini so I could plug the keyboard to the iPad. It is running iOS 6.1. The feel of the keys is very responsive, better that I expected almost semi-weighted. The size of the keys are good and matched what I already has read on other reviews. I do miss not having at least one more octave but I know it was a trade for having a convenient size and also knowing that it's the only model that can be powered by the iPad. Nevertheless I'm getting used with the two octaves and the octave button.I did get the software bundle for free: M1 Le, EZ drummer, Ableton, Lounge Lizard session, Ultra Analog session and Strum session. So if your not sure that this keyboard might please you, consider the amount of software that comes with it. For me, it was a no-brainer deal and I'm happy with either the software and keyboard.

1. Works with my iPad with no nonsense.2. I’ve tried a few mini keyboards, and bought (and returned) an Akai MPK Mini. This has much better keys — by mini keyboard standards. “Micro” or no, the physical width of the keys is about the same as the MPK Mini. I worried when ordering that “micro” might mean “smaller than mini”, but that’s not the case.3. The tiny little pitch/mod joystick is awful (1 point penalty).4. Animoog for iPad doesn’t play very nicely with it. You can get it to work via Setup, but the pressure or something is wrong and the patches don’t sound as they should. But Animoog is really meant to be played on the screen anyway. No points off for that.

Eigentlich spiele ich ja E-Gitarre, bzw. lerne die E-Gitarre. Dennoch gab es immer wieder Momente, in denen ich mir gewünscht hätte, auch ein MIDI Keyboard an meinem PC angeschlossen zu haben.Nachdem ich den Markt etwas sondiert hatte, entschloss ich mich zum Kauf. Ein AKAI und das LORG waren in der engeren Auswahl Zuerst probierte ich das AKAI aus - hatte früher mal ein Kassettendeck von AKAI, was mir in guter Erinnerung war. Doch irgendwie war ich davon nicht überzeugt.Zu einem etwas höheren Preis gab es dann das KORG. Die Bewertungen, was zum Beispiel auch die Qualität der Tasten anbelangte, waren sehr gut, weshalb ich mich dafür entschloss.Die Lieferung erfolgte sehr schnell, so dass ich mich davon auch selbst überzeugen konnte. Zwar ist beim KORGA auch alles aus Plastik, doch irgendwie sieht es wertiger aus und insbesondere die Tasten inkl. Hub fühlen sich auch viel besser an.Das KORG kommt mit einer reichhaltigen Softwarepakete, bei der ich immer noch dabei bin mir eine Übersicht zu verschaffen.Das Freischalten und Laden der einzelnen Softwarepakete über das Web ist etwas umständlich (und in meinen Augen veraltet).Doch deswegen ziehe ich in der Gesamtwertung keinen Punkt ab.Denn insgesamt bin ich zufrieden.

Its my first midi keyboard ever and I'm not much of a keyboardist I am a guitarist and a percussionist and make music using my iPad mini with ios 9.2.1 I guess and was looking for a compatible keyboard desperately and after doing all the survey on net and asking my musician friends I decided to take a chance with this trusted brand and trust me its Worth buying it. I usually don't prefer buying instruments online because I personally wish to see and test it first before buying...but thanks to amazon guys who delivered it before time and in a perfect condition too. Those who are looking for more features in less money may find many other options too.but trust me they won't give you such quality.
