The first thing you should do when you receive this item is to wash it to get rid of the dye. Mine came with a little instruction telling me I should wash it first before wearing. I've now had a chance to wear this item a couple of times now. This item is very soft and comfortable and I hardly notice I even had it on. However, if you sleep on your side or stomach, better fasten the band a little tighter so the eye mask stays on your head and doesn't let light in. I sleep on my back so this doesn't bother me. However, there's a reason this gets 4 stars and not 5. 1. It does let some light in where the noise piece is. This didn't bother me as when I closed my eyes, I didn't even notice. The one thing that kind of bother me is the band is connected by Velcro. Because of this, I can feel a little bump in the back of my head. You'll eventually get used to it but you'll always know it's there. Overall a nice and comfortable product. I haven't had any black eyes yet but I did hand wash it and ran it under water for several minutes until what I rung out was clear water and not grayish looking.

Might be just me because this is second different mask I've tried n both let in light around my nose.

Lets the light in at the bottom of the mask. Needs to be puffier at the bottom to close out the light.

I was very much looking forward to a superior , high quality, and well designed sleep mask.What I received seemed well-designed, but after wearing it for one evening, the product left a black power/residue on my face, that was difficult even to wash off. It was NOT simply dust or dirt, and was comprised of the inner materials of the padding of the mask. This residue stuck to my pores and took a few days to clean off ,even with soap!! I am left concerned as to what this powder was, and whether or not it is harmful or toxic in any way, if inhaled or absorbed through the skin!I have indicated this to Amazon through feedback when I returned the item, but have not had any communication from them yet.

I have used this for every flight or road trip I've taken since my purchase. It's extremely comfortable which is huge when compared to others.

The mask ruined my $350 sheets. This mask bled black all over my sheets in one day. Simply leaving it on the bed left huge black spots ALL OVER! Unacceptable. Beyond that the dye is impossible to remove, the mask falls off, the elastic hurts the tops of my ears and generally is junk. Buy something else.

The padding around the eyes which prevents the mask from resting on your eyelids makes this weightless. Just a little sliver of light near nose.
