A+ dog bed
It's a little pricey, but it's really nice. The base is 3" egg crate, the underside is a non-skid fabric (impregnated with little rubber dots) the fabric is like a microsuede, and the center panel (seat) is a short faux fur-like covering. There are two zippers on the back, one to take out the egg-crate bottom foam, and one to take out a flexible pillow for the bolster. This model is similar to product "K&H Ortho Bolster Sleeper Pet Bed" in brown or grey, but has a few more appointments: the fabric of the bolster is patterned with paw prints, it has piping around the edges for a more finished look, and the center panel (seat) is double-layered and has diagonal top stitching to look like little pillows. You really have to love your pet like your child to convince yourself to spend this kind of money on a pet bed. Hopefully it will last. I contemplated making one myself from scratch but quickly realized the money for the supplies and time to sew it all together would make it a wash. Plus I like instant gratification, and knew that ordering it now would mean my dog can sleep on it now, instead of in a few weeks when I get a round tuit :o)In my opinion, this bed is very nice; it is a well-planned design, and well-executed. It arrived in a large box direct from K&H manufacturing within 2 days of ordering. I ordered a medium for my terrier, and it was the right size - total floor space is about 30" x 24". The color is nearly identical to how it appears online, maybe a little darker. All the stitching looks good, and I think it looks well made. Shell made in China, Foam made in USA, filled and assembled in Colorado USA. There isn't much more you can do besides some throw pillows and tassels to make this bed nicer. I really like the design of the oval with 3/4 bolster, it gives the perfect contour for my dog's back to curl up in. I like that you can remove the foam by zipper for easy cleaning the fabric cover later, but the zippers are just generic, non-YKK. I like the idea that the egg-crate will be more homogenous than a pillow of poly-fill, more orthopedic than a solid slab of foam, and that it is a decent 3" thick. I like that the bottom has a non-skid fabric, and the bolster is thickly stuffed with poly fill (in its own removable pillow) to support the full weight of my dog's head. I like that the fabric cover feels nice, although maybe a little thin, at least it breathes well. I like the cute extras like the piping and diagonal stitching, and paw print patter, and I'm SURE that I appreciate them more than my dog does. The only downside, if you can call it one, is that my dog sometimes likes to hide treats in the bed for later, and unfortunately there isn't much of a crease (for better or worse) to hide anything in. You could also look at that it will stay cleaner because of it.

Great bed, but size matters!
My dog is 23lbs, and about 33" from head to mid-tail. I ordered the Medium-sized bed, and it is *just* big enough for him. As you can see, his little butt hangs off the end when he lays length-wise on the bed. If your dog is even the slightest bit bigger than this little dood, you should opt for the larger sized bed. Also -- this bed is VERY sturdy. His last bed bit the dust after he clawed and dragged it daily from one end the house to the other (weird habit, but he loves to "dig" and make blankets + what-not into little nests). This bed is too sturdy and heavy for his shenanigans -- PLUS! -- The entire cover of the bed is removable and washable in a standard w/d. I've had no issues with this cover getting weird in the dryer, either. It is a very nice warmer toned eggplant color, with a velour-ish feel. It honestly looks great in my home. All in all, I cannot believe the quality of this dog bed. My dog has been using it for several months now, and it looks the exact same as when I got it. I highly recommend.

Bad sizing, but great bed overall.
Update (Jan 2019): I've had this bed for almost three years. It's been through the wash multiple times. No signs of wear, and my dog still loves it. I still highly recommend it.Original review (March 2016): I initially purchased a medium for my 27 lb Corgi. I looked over the the other reviews, and that seemed like the best fit. Well, when it got to us, it was tiny. Way too small. So I sent it back, and ordered a large. The large is a bit too big for him, but he can cuddle up with the side bolsters, or stretch out. The sizing is pretty bad, honestly.I'm really impressed with the quality of this bed. It's extremely well made. I researched beds for about a week, trying to find one that was right for my dog. He's kinda picky. I wanted a bed with bolsters, that he could easily climb into, and had a flat sleeping area that wasn't overstuffed. A couple beds fit the bill, but I landed on this one after reading reviews. And I'm happy I did. The construction is great. The padding is thick. There aren't any exposed stitches (a big no-no for my dog. He'll rip apart exposed stitching). The bolster is nice and supportive. And the fabric is thick with nice coloring.Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase. A bed of this quality at a big box store probably would have cost twice as much.

Good bed, smaller than you think it'll be
This product is a high quality bed. Good materials, very nice padding and soft. My Maltese loves it and sits in it regularly. It was a bit smaller than I thought it would be based on the dimensions online because the bolstered sides are very thick and take up a lot of room. That being said, I like how sturdy the sides are, our dog likes to lean against the sides of our couch and he does the same thing on these bolsters and they don't budge. It's a perfect little couch for your dog especially if you're teaching your dog not to sit on your furniture.I bought a medium bed and it is ok for my 7 lb dog. He can't stretch out fully on it, but he loves it anyway and sleeps in a curve, plus I bought it as a pet couch rather than a bed, he has a bigger bed in another room. I'd recommend going a size bigger than you think you need.
