You obviously need a hole saw to make the opening in your desk for this to sit in. I used a drill press attachment to make sure the hole saw when straight in and stayed true. That made the hole the exact diameter of the grommet. So, you're going to have to make sure the hole is slightly larger. If I had done it by hand and without the drill press guide, the resulting probably would've been large enough. So, just take that into consideration when you go to install.After I got the hole wide enough, it worked (and continues) to work flawlessly. I can charge a phone and battery pack at the same time I transfer files from, to, or between flash drives. There's no lag as compared to connecting them to the computer itself. Same thing with wired headphones and an external hard drive.I'm very happy I bought this.

It says it's for a 60mm hole. Yes, it fits in a 60mm hole. It is NOT secure and will spin around, pull right out, etc. There is nothing included that helps secure it in place. Either make your hole smaller (by a few mm) or do what I did. I took a 3M Command Heavy Duty Hook and Loop Strap and stuck it around the top of the part that inserts in the hole (just one). It's just enough to secure it and allows you to use flash drives without holding the unit when pulling it out.

I have some desks with desktops in the above cabinets. I needed two USB attachments for a dental radiograph sensor and intra oral camera. I pulled my old grommet and this one fit perfect. Plugged in both my devices and everything works great.

Cannot give a bad reference for a defective product. All ports work fine but the mic jack doesn't capture any sound. Easy to install but it need a way to lock into the hole.

It works great. My one criticism is that once installed in a 60mm hole, there is no retaining mechanism to the device. I improvised with a zip tie which stops it from coming out of the hole just fine.

I have a mouse, keyboard and a USB bus powered MIDI keyboard and there's very small latency.No phone charging, but you should be able to connect any data source.

My lovely cats decided to chew the cords on my computer desk, and I had to replace my desk grommet. This was both inexpensive and works amazing. Fits perfectly in the hole and easy to install.

Only buy this thing if you want to use it for very low power devices like your wired keyboard and mouse. It's absolutely useless for charging. This is more of a trickle charger at best, and if you hook up 2 or 3 or 4 things it's just ridiculous.
