Super Pooper!: A cute story on how to bring fun and laughter to potty training.

👍
My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.

My kid loves this book!
Update: I don’t know what it is about this book but my daughter is now fully potty trained and we threw a Super Pooper party today complete with capes and cake! Your kid will expect a party! It is totally worth it!So my daughter hasn’t exactly pooped on the potty yet (we have had this book about 5 days) but she has asked to read this book multiple times per day, actually sits down to try (which is new) and tells me that she is going to poop on the potty so she can be a super pooper! Out of the 3 books we bought to try to coax her onto the potty this one for whatever reason seems to be the one that she chooses every time! It has at least renewed some motivation for potty training at our house. She has been potty trained for everything but poop for almost 2 months so we are really trying to make that next leap!

I was not excited, but my toddler was!
I bought two books to help get my son more comfortable with going #2 on the potty--he will only go #2 in a diaper. I purchased two books for this endeavor. I loved the first book (I Can't, I Won't, No Way!), as it seemed to relate to my son's exact issue. So, when I read this book, I was not terribly impressed--as an adult, it seems somewhat silly and irrelevant.Well, to my surprise, it really struck a chord with my 3-year old son. He asked me to read it again. I think he asked me to read it about four times that first night. Even more to my surprise, the very next morning, he went #2 in the potty, all by himself! He didn't ask for our help or anything. He just surprised us by being half-naked at wake-up time and there was a special surprise in the potty! He then asked me to read the book a few times that morning and again at bedtime that night. I'm not sure what it is about the book, maybe it's the hero aspect, maybe it's the silly name--who knows, but I sure hope this trend sticks with my son.

She did like the idea of a party as a reward and ...
Not what I was expecting. It doesn't say how the main boy learned to poop on the potty, just that he did. It is a very short book. My daughter thinks it's cute, though she doesn't understand why the poop smell has an illustration. I do wish it said big kid underwear instead of big boy (to make it more relatable to my daughter), but I just substitute the words. My daughter hasn't actually started pooping on the potty yet, but she enjoys reading the book. Hopefully it helps with that soon (we have been potty training for a little over a week now). She did like the idea of a party as a reward and I did have to make her a cake as her reward for using the potty after she saw the picture in the book (so just a heads up for other parents as to what's in here and what might motivate your kids).

Potty-Training Game Changer
We did the 3-day potty-training routine with my 3-year-old a few weeks back, which overall worked well but after a few early successes, he started refusing to use the potty for #2. He would routinely use the potty to pee without accident, but he would just poop in his underwear and flat out tell us that he didn't want to use the potty for that. I was worried we were starting to get into a power struggle. This book (along with Where's the Poop?) arrived on a Thursday and we read it a couple of times that day. The very next day he went into the bathroom on his own, came out a few minutes later and announced, "I pooped on the potty! I'm a super pooper!" Nearly a week later, he continues to use the potty all on his own with no accidents and no hesitation. He also continues to ask to read this (and Where's the Poop?). I still cannot believe that a book made such a difference, but there's no doubt in my mind that this was our turning point. (I also can't believe I've used "poop" so many times in a book review. Ahh, motherhood.)

Not Magic but Super Positive
This wasn't a magic book that suddenly helped my 3 year old poop in the toilet but he did LOVE to read it. So for three months when he would pee but not poop on the toilet we would read it just about every time he got on and talk about him being a super pooper someday. Ultimately we told him he would have to start trying when his diapers ran out (we'd let him poop in a diaper because the toilet scared him). When his diapers ran out (and he was aware because we kept the final package in his sights) he sat on the toilet and did it. He was SO excited to call himself a super pooper. Every time he goes he calls himself a Super Pooper. So it wasn't magic but it helped work it up as something very positive. I would recommend it. It kept it light and fun.

Kids love it, me somewhat less so
The five-star review is really from my kids, who adore this book and actually have not pooped in their pants since reading it, although we were close to that point beforehand so I can't know how much was timing and how much was the book. It's an easy read, in that there's no terrible, awkwardly-timed rhyming, and it's pretty quick and straight forward. I have girls and it works fine for either gender in my opinion.HOWEVER, a warning to the parents out there: in this book the kid learns to poop and he then has a party thrown in his honor, with a cape, a crown, and a cake. WHAT THE HELL. Why so specific? Would a big hug not have sufficed? Maybe a crisp high five, or a bowl of ice cream? Guess what I get to do this weekend :-/ off to order a crown and a cape...sigh...but if I never have to clean up poop again it'll be worth it.

Son is pretty uninterested in it
American phrasing with diaper instead of nappy so rewording as i read it. Son is pretty uninterested in it. Bit disappointed as had read positive things about book.

Super little book
Not a massively deep story but my twin boys absolutely love this book and it's made a very positive start to their training. They request it every day & I often have to read it several times to them in one sitting.
