Muff Pack Muffler Repacking Kit, Up to 19" long Mufflers

The can I installed the kit in was a Muzzy off of a 1998 ZX9R. Took about 45 minutes from start to finish taking the can off the bike, drilling out the rivets, removing what was left of the old baffling, installing the new screen, stainless steel wool, fiberglass, putting it back together, and installing the can back on the bike. If you have the basic hand tools to take off the exhaust, drill with a bit (mine was 1/8"), rivet gun, sharp scissors, and a pair of gloves, it should take an hour or so max to do one can. The sound of the bike is noticeably quieter, would recommend. See pics for the level of damage to the existing fiberglass, which did not seem like much.

I had a D&D pipe of my 00 zx7r. It was way too loud. I was going to buy one of their repacking kits but they were very pricey. Installed this kit and it sounds awesome. I had to purchase 2 extra rivets from lowes for the logo plate, but other than that installation was a breeze. well worth the money.

I got this to do a repack on an Akrapovic muffler for a BMW R1200GS. I opened up the the muffler and it also had a steel wool inner core with a mesh screen and then some fiberglass packing so I was pleased that this kit had pretty much the same stuff. Only issue I had was after I wrapped the mesh, steel wool and fiberglass around the baffle, I had a good half inch to 3/4 inch void all around the muffler. I just ordered more fiberglass wrap so I can finish the job.

I have been having nothing but problems with the muffler packing in my CBR1000RR silencer. I've tried different types and brands of packing. Ive tried Ceramic, high temp fiberglass, and a type of ceramic yarn. Everything I've tried melts, blows out, or both.Until this.This kit includes not only the packing but also a fine screen to wrap over the core. This screen I believe keeps the packing from blowing out the holes of the core.After wrapping the screen around the core next comes the SS packing. This holds up much better than any of the ceramic or fiberglass that I have used. Lastly, there is an outer wrap of fiberglass.I disassembled the silencer after a few months of racing. In the past the can would either be empty or full of melted fiberglass that clumped up into chunks. Happily I found the packing to be much the same as when I first put it in. The SS packing was discolored from heat but that's about it.I will say the exhaust is fairly loud but not nearly as loud as normal after a few races when everything is blown out. I'm fairly sure I would be under the noise requirements at most tracks like Jennings, etc.

Get this kit.I used this to re-pack my Rinehart muffler on my Road Glide and it made a huge difference in sound control. No more raspy sound. The all metal packing with the screen keeps it from blowing out. I had bought a fiberglass re-pack kit and I didn't make it out of town before the packing blew out, one strand at a time.

Awesme. Just what I was looking for. Saved me hundreds by doing it myself instead of a dealer or getting a new slip on exhaust.

Pretty good value for the money. I used this to repack my Jardine RT-1 for my Buell. Not sure if the included rivets are any good or not since I used my own stainless steel rivets.
