attractive-looking towels and I love the selection of colors
These are big, attractive-looking towels and I love the selection of colors. They are lightweight and a great alternative to microfiber towels for traveling. You can wear them as a shawl/scarf on the way to the beach! They are very absorbent and dry out quickly. I think they are gentler on my hair than traditional or microfiber towels--I can wrap my hair in them without it getting frizzy or tangled. In spite of all the rave reviews, they do have some disadvantages. While they absorb water well and dry fast, they are very noticeably damp and clammy when wet. So while they make a great scarf on the way to the beach, wearing them like that on the way home isn't so pleasant. As bath towels they are fine in the summer, but chilly in the winter since they don't really move the water away from your skin. And while the price is great, it does show in the quality of the fabric. They've had occasional loose threads from day one. This isn't really a problem and I'd always expect some amount of wear and tear especially at this price point, but I don't think you can throw away your other towels and think these will last a lifetime.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and think it's a great buy for the price. And if you don't like them as towels, they would work well as throws/shawls/picnic blankets.

Excellent space saving, time saving, better coverage bath towels!
So far so good! Colors are accurate, they are soft and absorbent right after the first wash! They dry your body quickly and better than terry towels and take up WAY less space and dry much faster when hanging. I bought this 3 pack to test out but may get another pack of more and transition from our bulky terry cloth towels. We have a very tiny house now and space is a premium. I am so glad I learned about these in a natural parenting group. The other great thing about them is that they are actually much larger than our regular bath towels, even though we have nice sized bath towels and are very soft and in great shape, these just offer much more coverage. You can be covered and still have lots of extra towel to rub off other areas while you keep warm and continue drying. My kids 9 and 6 yrs old love them too! Especially if you like to line dry your clothes or have to take clothes to a laundromat these would be very worth the cost for you. They would dry indoors just as well. You could skip the drier altogether and just hang them up in the bathroom to dry after washing. And to keep them lasting longer reuse them after several baths and hang dry. Also fabric softeners will make your linens repel water so do not use those or drier sheets on them. Not to mention the chemicals. To sum it up, you can't really go wrong with these fabulous towels. Time will tell how well they hold up. I will update in some time to see how they have held up.Update - 11/18/15 - We are still loving these towels and they are holding up well! Again they take up next to no space, wash easily and as well take up so little space in the washer, no lint, dry fast. They are so large and cover your whole body so you don't get cold getting out of the tub where as most terry towels are not big enough to cover you well especially a larger person. These cover my kids from head to toe at 6 and 9. Such wonderful space saving and absorbent towels. Honestly if you want to try these go for the bigger bundles and save. You are going to love them so it's worth the savings! They make great gifts or great for travel too!

So-so in terms of absorbency. Nice Color!
I ordered Mint, Purple, and Gray; 2 for gifts and 1 for myself. The towel is quite big and the color is very nice (huggy pastel tone). It is pretty thin and has sort of a thin coat of greasy/oily stuff on the surface, which I assumed as a finishing chemical on the products. I have washed the towel 3 times so far and it still does not feel quite absorbent as other people described them to be. It wrinkles pretty well once it is dry. I have not noticed how it dries a lot quicker than other towels given its thinness; it's way thinner than other towels so I am not surprised that it should not take that long to dry. I wanted this for light-packing trips given its advertised absorbency and rapid drying; I unfortunately have not experienced the full advantage of the advertised benefits of this product yet.

The towel an Intergalactic Hitchiker would be proud to call their own.
I heard about peshtemal towels on a thrifty Facebook group, and they were raving about how utterly GOOD this style of towel is - thin but soft, absorbent but quick drying, and big enough to wrap up in with no embarrassing gaps. The best part was supposed to be that this was THE towel to use if you hang your laundry to dry, because it dries fast and still feels soft, not stiff and scratchy like terry towels. When these towels first arrived, they were still coated in some sort of sizing or possibly the natural oils from the cotton - they felt like they had been starched. Thankfully, I've been down this road before, when I bought my brand new cloth prefold diapers - you just have to wash them a few times, and then the real character of the fabric comes out. One wash is probably plenty with these towels, but three times is good to get them broken in a little better. And I have to say, I'm a convert! When I towel off with my terry towels, the towel starts off dry and I'm all wet, and by the time I'm done, both the towel and I are damp. When I towel off with these towels, I start off wet with the towel dry, but after I'm done, the towel is wet and I'm DRY. And after a few hours, the towel is completely dry, too.If I were an intergalactic hitchhiker, I would always want to know where this towel is. It's supremely useful, cuddly, packable, and easy to wash and dry. This is a towel that Rick of the Walking Dead could wash by beating on a rock in a stream, dry it on a nearby branch, and have it ready to go before the next walker attack. You don't need to be fussy about this towel, running it through the dryer 3 times to avoid that musty smell. You can fit it in any bag, closet, or on a bathroom hook, and not worry that it'll be too heavy or bulky.
