Terrible product, buy something else
I use 5 different cameras for my church streaming and I thought I'd try an inexpensive PTZ camera to simplify my setup. This was a waste of time and money. I've been programming and working with computers since 1976.1) The app required to run the camera is awful, I got it to work once out of 20 tries on different WiFi networks. Once I closed the app and powered up the camera again it would not connect to my WiFi. The router is within 6' of the camera.2) The camera does have the ability to connect to a Windows PC. This only works with Internet Explorer with a custom plugin installed. Internet Explorer support is going away soon.3) The web interface is okay but who wants to run Internet Explorer? This is where you can configure a static IP address.4) The "documentation" is just awful, it doesn't cover anything except the app for the most part. It does have one paragraph that shows how to connect via Internet Explorer.5) The picture quality is not worth the time. The picture above is the best focus I was able to achieve. You can see how fuzzy the picture is. It will only focus on certain zoom levels, nothing below 4.5X zoom. Forget about being able to use the recordings to recognize a human.6) It frequently goes out of focus between presets.7) There is NO documentation on how to connect via rtsp or onvif. If you are stuck with one of these search for "ipcam-100" for some help. I posted a question on this item about how to connect and it was deleted! The URL for rtsp is: rtsp://username:[email protected]:554/mpeg4/ch0/main/av_stream replace XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX with your camera's IP address.8) The zoom is displayed on the bottom of the picture, there doesn't appear to be any way to get rid of it.9) There is no image freeze between presets, you get to watch it move and attempt to focus. So, basically, buy something else.

Good buy.
Good quality, easy to set up as a stand alone or add to a NVR.

Well built with good lens marred by firmware and other issues
One thing needs to be said upfront is this is not a 8X optical zoom camera but a 5X optical with digital zoom to 10X. When I got it, the title description was 8X optical zoom, but the description of the lens says 2.8-12mm which only slightly more than 4X. The camera box and manual has no indication of what It is and upon installed it, the web interface can go up to 10X. I made inquiry to the seller and was it is only 5X optical zoom. The seller has since correct the title but elsewhere in the descriptions still full of 8X optical zoom. Beware. To setup, the easiest way is if you can make a wired connection, find the IP adress form the router, set it up via web browser. If wired connection is out of question, the use app to connect to camera's own WIFI hotspot.Speaking of the app Aview, it is one of those require you to register. I hate these app that demand you to register in order to use it. If no cloud storage is involved, why do I have to give out my phone number or email? I like those cameras use CamHi or CamHi Pro as they don't require registration. The web browser UI is another problem area. Like many similar products, this one only works with IE with OCX plugin. With Edge or Chrome, you wouldn't able to see the video. The camera itself is well built with full metal casing. The image quality is good and color night vision sort of works. If you look at the night pictures with A marking, they are from this camera and B marking is from a 5MP camera with IR turned off. As you can see color night vision is mixed bag depends on the location lighting. The image of the 5MP one is actually clearer but that one doesn't have white light to aid night vision but rather use IR and the result is B&W image, while this one offers white light instead of IR. As for which one is better, it depends on your preference and environment lighting condition. There is a problem with this camera's white light as you can see from the picture, they are always on even under bright day light. I tried all the possible settings to no avail.I also found the camera's motion detection especially human detection one of the worst. Using default setting, it triggered all the time, even change the sensitive to 10 of ou 100 It still had lots false alarm. Going done further, the false alarm is reduced but it missed alot actual person motion too.If you plan to use WIFI connection, it is usable but not great. I tried just put it out of door with WIFI mesh node just behind the door. Signal level is very good around -40db and yet the FPS often dropped to less than one! Using Ethernet cable connect to the same mesh node will get 15-20FPS with 20 bing the max FPS It sends out. I would recommend use Ethernet connection if at all possible. The box includes an power extension cable about 10ft. With the power adapter cable about 5ft, you get total of 15ft and that is about as far as power adapter of this type can support. To extend it any longer, the voltage degradation may be to big to power the camera. If you need further distance, POE is better way to go. I need a 100ft run and I used an inexpensive POE splitter from Amazon to connect to this camera and the other end of Ethernet cable to a POE switch. I don't use WIFI as it is not reliable. One more negative about this camera is the description says It supports H.265, but the firmware only shows H.264. The seller said the firmware may be miss labeled but tinyCam shows the video It received is H. 264, not H.265. While H.265 may not be critical for a 1080P camera, still it takes 2-3X the bandwidth of H.265. If you plan to use WIFI, this may become a more important issue. For a 1080P PTZ, the price is on the high side. I have other 5MP 5X optical zoom PTZ that looks alike on the outside cost less. Had this one Had true 8X optical zoom probably can justify its cost but with common 5X zoom of camera of this type, I see no real advantage of this one.Edit 11/17/2020Forgot to mention one more very annoying firmware bug. The PTZ control has the right and left pan control reversed! The up and down tilt are correct but right and left are reversed. I made inquiry to the seller and there is no firmware switch at this point to flip the control. This looks like a very sloppy mistake on the part of firmware engineer and product manager. If you use tinyCam, you can flip it in the app, but otherwise you have to get use with reverse control logic until if and when they fix it.

does not run on cms sw
cam does NOT run cms sw they told me it does. it runs on ams sw which are not the same and not compatible. i needed to replace some cams on my house. out of 5, 3 needed replacement. i bought 3 cams from them since they told me their cam would work with cms. it does not. if i were to install their cams i would have to run 2 different sw. ams for the 3 cams i bought from them and cms for my remaining 2 good cams. total waste of money.
