Definitely NOT 24 Watts!!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I'm not sure exactly why the other reviewers have given this such a good review other than because "it works".I wasn't expecting the 24W Solar Panel to do something amazing, however I was expecting it to at least come somewhere close to what it's rated at. Needless to say, it doesn't.Build quality - The build quality is nice. I would give it 5 stars for this category because it appears to be well made.Design - The only possible issue I can see is with the 2 USB ports being fixed in place and that possibly being broken off or something. It seems well attached, so this is a very minor issue. I would give it 5 stars for design as well.Performance - Ok, this thing fails miserably here. First off, if it's not in direct sunlight, the charging circuit will likely shut off. This was especially true on a cloudy day, which the box mentions this, but the product description makes no mention of it. Just putting it in the dash of my van on a sunny day led to poor performance and it kept cutting on and off with my iPhone connected. I could understand it not producing full power for charging if you are in a slightly shaded area or if it's a cloudy day, but this thing just shuts off on you instead.Output Power - 24 Watts??? Yeah, no. The box says the solar cells themselves are rated at 24 Watts, but the charging circuit can only output 5V 20 Watts. Well, that is if this product wasn't grossly overrated. Applying Ohms Law, this iURJA solar panel should be able to output up to 4 Amps (assuming it could actually produce the full 20 Watts). But when I put a 2 Amp load on it (4 x 10 Ohm resistors in parallel), the output voltage dropped to approx. 3.2V and could only supply 1.3 Amps. That was with the panel in direct sunlight. Do the math and that's only 4 Watts, a FAR ways away from the 20W.So what's my conclusion? This thing is overrated and overpriced, PERIOD. I was looking for a high output solar panel that could produce plenty of power for portable applications, but this one doesn't live up to that. To be fair, it will charge your phone and your tablet, but it certainly won't provide the amperage/wattage it claims it can and that's a scam in my book.
