May 16, 2015.Sometimes ignorance can be our worst enemy! I apologize to Mrs. Penrose and her company for my lack of knowledge and my confusion. As I was using the natural hog bristles for acrilyc paint. Resulting this in a dissapointment, as my previous review stated. I have tried out the synthetic brushes with these paints and have proven that indeed they are indeed great brushes. I did not notice any lose bristles but will update my review accordingly in the future.Thanks again for a grwat costumer service!Truth be told I had high hopes for these brushes... the pros : the packaging they came in, is a fine. Individual plastic bags for each brush might seem excessive for some, but I liked how it gave the brushes a more professional look. handles are long and nice to hold.The real issues is that the acrylic brushes have too thick and coarse bristles. This makes the brushes so stiff that laying paint on the canvas/cloth/paper (tried them all) is almost impossible. After a few strokes to trying to get used to them I noticed the bristles get disarranged so the stroke that should be a relatively fine line now becomes several lines.....To be fair... I have not yet tried the ''oil'' brushes yet. but even if they are outstanding the 2 star rating won't change. Because I payed for a whole set combo. Not just the stiff as rock bristles.**note: I did remove all the glue from the paintbrush and cleaned as stated from the seller's e-mails.

As a long time painter, I've been through my share of brushes. That is why it is a pleasure to give this excellent brush set the highest review possible and to highly recommend these wonderful brushes to other painters. When I started to travel for work, I thought my painting opportunities might be drastically pared back - but NO...with the proper portable tools...a determined painter can get the job done. The brush set is not just superior quality, it comes beautifully organized and ready to go anywhere in a great organizer/keeper to ensure you can maintain these wonderful brushes for a long time to come. So glad I got this fantastic brush set. You will feel the same way too, if you decide to make this purchase. Highly recommend!

These brushes are quite nice. I am new at the art of watercolor; and found that in the class I took recently, the instructor prefers to use round rather than flat bristled brushes; however I made due with these flat brushes and was quite happy with the result, as well as the fact that they did not shed.

These brushes have not held up well. Two of the ferrules came off the first time I cleaned them, they definately do shed (still shedding after several cleanings) and they have not held there shape (many stray hairs sticking out). I have treated them with care, cleaned them regularly and properly, and have not left them with paint on. I have been mainly using the natural hair brushes. These don't seem any better than cheap craft store brushes.The only positive I can give is the speedy arrival and the nice carrying case. I tried to respond to one of the "how do you like your brushes" emails but it was rejected saying I can only contact through Amazon.Edit 4/7/15:Penrose was kind enough to send me another set. While the bristle brushes were not better, I really liked the synthetics. They worked well for washes and thinner applications of acrylics. I think they would also be good for watercolors though I have not used them for that. I would like to see longer bristles and a higher bristle count for both types of brushes.

The brushes are very nice! An extra fine line brush was sent as a bonus too! I have enjoyed using these brushes. Was using cheap brushes and was not able to do the fine lines and blending nearly as well as with these brushes. I like the nice sized handles as well. Very pleased and satisfied with my purchase! Oh and the brush folder is nice. It has protective plastic that shields both sides of the folder to keep your folder nice and clean and dry. I have not taken them outside to do any painting but It looks like it will do a great job keeping the brushes safe and neat.

Set looked nice when it arrived but I would not consider these "superior quality" as title states. The metal connector attaching handle to brush head detached from first oil brush I used after only a few strokes. I'm very disappointed with purchase. I would not buy a full set again. Instead, I would invest in a higher quality single brush and build a "superior quality" set over time. This set is going to the childrens art box.

Hello fellow artists who are scanning these reviews for helpful information! I'm an amateur artist and college student minoring in art, and I bought these brushes because of the good value and excellent reviews. I was really excited about this brush set (and still am). Unfortunately, my excitement diminished somewhat when I used them because they shed dreadfully (at least the synthetic bristle brushes did). This was upsetting, as I was expecting them to be completely shed-free like so many reviewers have raved about! I'm wondering if maybe I just got a couple of bad brushes in my set? Some of the brushes also have uneven bristles and after one use a couple of the brushes have already begun fraying and have bristles sticking out to the sides - disappointing to say the least! So far, I have only used one of that natural bristle brushes (the smallest) and it hasn't shed yet and was lovely to work with. As it was the very first time I've used any of these brushes, I know it was not the result of any negligence on my part (regardless I treat my brushes very well and clean them as soon as I'm finished). So far as I can tell, my experience was an exception and most of the brushes are wonderful - so you may well receive an excellent product like I expected to if you buy these brushes. I'm intending to contact the seller and may update my review...Addendum: I tried another of the natural bristle brushes. I removed the plastic tube that protected the bristles and along with it came the ferrule. I'm not sure what happened with this set of brushes but I'm disappointed!

Hacía tiempo que no pintaba y no sé si le voy a dar continuidad, no quería gastar mucho y han resultado ser pinceles excelentes. Por lo menos las primeras sesiones arrastran bien la pintura, los de cerdas, un poco toscos, dejaron caer algunos pelos el primer día pero luego aguantaron el tipo (igual hay que mantenerlos húmedos más tiempo, apenas los dejé en agua unos minutos). Pinto sobre tabla y los primeros días les meto bastante caña, de momento no tiemblan las virolas. Con los sintéticos puedes pasar de pincelada ancha a detalles finos y no pierden forma (V. Miniatura en cobre, "work in progress"). Es cierto que los cuadros de las fotos llevan 2 o 3 sesiones no más. Ya veremos en unos meses como siguen, de momento los considero amortizados.

Hele fijne kwasten, zoals in de advertentie staat verharen ze niet en ze zien er minstens even mooi uit. Een perfecte combinatie van zachte en grove kwasten, en kleine en grote formaten. Ik heb ze zelf voor acryl verf gebruikt en dat werkte heel goed. Ze komen in een mooie hoes waardoor je ze goed en veilig kan bewaren. Het enige minpunt dat ik kan bedenken is dat alleen de allerkleinste kwast een mooi plastic omhulsel heeft dat je er op en af kan doen om de haartjes bij elkaar te houden zodat ze niet gaan uitsteken, maar dat is een klein detail. Verder is de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding echt beter dan goed.

Diese war noch einmal extra in Folie eingepackt.Auch die schnelle Lieferung hat mich überzeugt.Die Pinsel selbst, machen einen guten Eindruck. Sie sind nicht ausgefranst und es gibt keine langen oder heraussteheden Filamente. Die einzelnen Köpfe machen einen guten Eindruck und die Pinsel liegen gut in der Hand. Jeder Pinsel ist einzeln verpackt.Es gibt eine Garantie auf die Pinsel, ich hoffe das ich sie nicht in Anspruch nehmen muss. Wenn doch, ist man zumindest auf der sicheren Seite.Es lag ein extra Pinsel mit sehr feiner Spitze dabei.Nur schade, daß sie jetzt als Weihnachtsgeschenk noch einmal extra reduziert sind. Zu lange wollte ich nicht warten, da ich Angst hatte sie sind zu Weihnachten nicht rechtzeitig da.Ich hoffe das es als Geschenk gut ankommt, die Pinsel selbst würde ich aber weiter empfehlen!

This is a fantastic 14 piece artist brush set. There are 6 Synthetic Brown handled brushes which are perfect for acrylic paints and watercolours and 7 Natural Bristle brushes with white handles for oil painting, however I have used them with acrylic paint and they are great. These premium quality brushes are long and smooth with beech handles and fitted aluminium ferrules. This set of brushes comes in a soft sturdy black artist brush case for protected storage with 2" individual 'pockets' at the bottom end to keep your brushes in place. Half-way up the case, there is individual elastic loops again to keep your brushes in place. Where the brush bristles lie at the top end, there is a sewn-in plastic see-through soft flap which covers over and under the bristles. The whole case has been designed to keep all your brushes secure without any of them slipping out. The case opens out flat for ease of use measuring approximately 13" wide x 13 3/4" long. The outside of the case has two magnatic press studs. This case is well made, has easy access to your brushes and is great to carry around. The bristles do not shed any hair and for such superior handmade brushes are incredible value for your money. I am not a professional artist by any means, but have been painting for many years and love these brushes. I highly recommended them.
